The ACE regional rep for NW Ohio, Howard Gilloly, has just made available some new perspectives of MF. Just to make it really special, they were taken yesterday

Hey, thanks for quoting my earlier topic Seven of 9. You are right though. Those pictures really show off the ride and I keep thinking big metal "Beast". That is a compliment since I absolutely love the Beast.
Oh, that was a compliment? Well, ok then. LOL

Does anyone know if they offer jet/helicopter rides around the Sandusky Bay area to the general public? I would love to capture some shots from up there!!

I think Griffing Flying Service at the Sandusky Airport offers airplane charters.
actually,I didn't see what was so great about the pictures, the quality is awful, grainy and over exposed. He had a good idea but if I paid to rent a plane,I would have either learned how to take a picture or hired a photographer.

Harsh....I thought it was pretty cool of the guy to get some air shots.

Hey Rob Henry, at least they do MF more justice than the webcam does.

Yeah... I rather we didn't have any photos at all.

Some people aren't content unless they're complaining about something.

Right on Jeff, I think people should embrace the fact that he even went up there and took some pics of it! They were totally sweet.

Welcome back Millennium Force riders...We all want to know how was your RIDE!!!!!
Wow--de ja vu! Late last night I thought I had posted something in regard to the new aerial shots but...maybe not. Lol. I must've not typed in my password correctly or something. RE: The pictures. Though, I do have to admit that I tried adjusting my PC's screen resolution at first, "it's all good" now. What some people are interpreting as poor quality shots was probably due instead to poor quality scans. Hey its the internet: it's free! I'm sure if we all saw them in person, they'd look great. If someone paid to charter an aircraft to take these pictures, you can be assured they didn't use a throwaway camera... It's really nice being able to see the completed inclined helix on the island, though. I had no idea it would actually be of that magnitude. *** This post was edited by DaveTKoch on 2/7/00. ***
I wasn't criticizing the guys effort and I am not complaining, yes,the pictures are nice and give views we haven't seen and probably won't see again. I was just commenting that they are a bit overexposed, that was all. I know it is probably just the scans but if it were my money (i know, it wasn't) I would have made sure they were perfect. Heck, if he sends me the pictures I will scan them the right way on our commercial drum scanner, you'll be able to see the support bolts then...

All of you people that talk about complaining-I am sure you have never EVER criticized anything in your entire life right??? Yeah, right.

And another thing, I am very content when not complaining. :)

Everyone needs to lighten up a bit when someone says something negative, it's not the end of the world, life WILL go on...
Geesh Rob!! Glad you got the money to rent a charter and a professional photographer! And yes you were criticizing when you said " I would of learned how to take a picture"! By the way Rob where are your pics??? A little negative?? You could hear the slap in the face from here! They were good pics, and I for one am greatful that someone took the time and money to do it, thanks Tim!

The more you ride it, the more you want it!

Those aerial shots really do show the how big MF really is. I was surprised when someone posted in one of the other threads that MF is one of the 5 longest coasters. On the layout drawing it does not look that long. But when you see how small the Mantis look in comparison, you realize the true size.

And RobHenry, give the guy a break. OK, maybe the pictures are not of the highest quality, but the point is that he want through the trouble of taking and posting them for our enjoyment.

Strectched out, ala MF style, Mantis might be pretty long! But Mantis is "smashed" over the lagoon so it looks like a carnival ride
