New Lighting...

They certainly looked great.

It's too bad that we have to put up with those budget cuts seeing that the economy isn't all that....well.

Does anyone have a picture with the tower lights on and one with them off (during the night)?

Wow those really are astouding. I've never seen them on before, they sure do make a difference. I like em!

Those lights really made TTD look awesome and you could see it from anywhere. However, I never got to ride with them on so I cannot judge if they removed them becuase they were blinding people, or just too expensive to run.

My theory has always been that they stopped using them because they had complaints about the brightness, but since they still appear on some nights here and there, that's probably not the cause.

I have a feeling they get left off when the ride is not functioning so as to not draw too much attention to a sore spot.

Goodbye MrScott

^Except that they were off almost all of the time last season. In fact, I don't think I can remember seeing them on once.

Maybe they could develop some neat system. If it's running, have them on so people will know from anywhere in the park, and when it's down shut them down.

Typically they do not light the tower entirely (meaning using all of the lights) when the ride is closed. It's not hard to tell the difference to someone who has seen it completely lit.

I think that they might still have the lights there and they will run them. I know this will sound kinda stupid but if you go to the website and look at the top of the page in the animated version of CP, it shows those lights on the Dragster. Just a thought.

Good point about the banner Grant, but we've learned in the past that the banner isn't always correct... :) But, let's hope!

I rode with the lights on and never had a problem with getting blinded, but I wish they lit more of the lights working everynight.
