Those do look new... it used to be just the tower lit up, now it has lights all the way up.

Torquing bolts. March, April and the first week of May consists of maintenance working their butt off. They have to do all of their checks, put the rides back together, and get them running for opening day.

They should put those lights on during regular operating hours at some points during the season. I almost prefer them to the regular lights.

Unless they've been taken out this off-season, I believe they are still there. One of them can be seen in the picture below on the extreme left, and it was taken during the last week or two of the 2005 season.

With everything else at the park seeming to be the same reason, maybe cost cutting? I really liked those things. It was neat seeing those two big lights in the sky.
