Heard this is possibly the restaurant we're getting on the new improved midway:
http://chickiesandpetes.com/
When I was in Philadelphia a few years back, I don't remember seeing this. Anyone ever eaten here/tried the crab fries/lobster pizza? (weird, I know).
I hope prices are fair and the addition of crab legs, mussels, etc doesn't add the perception of overly inflated park food prices. Also wondering because of its sports bar theme that this could be a possible replacement for Game Day Grille? If anyone could get confirmation, that'd be helpful.
What makes you think this will be the option they select? It makes sense in Dorney Park because of the proximity to Philadelphia. The food is extremely regional comparable to the pizza at Kings Island or even skyline chili. It does not fit the food culture of this region. I think it will be an unbranded restaurant. If they go branded I just hope it's something regional maybe with perch and walleye sandwiches.
"Thank the Phoenicians!"
^^^ Thank You, I hadn't seen that yet. I still think personally it doesn't fit this region, I personally have no desire to eat there. That's kills my opinion thought.
This place looks interesting. It adds some variety to the park. I sadly expect 300% price inflation though, like Subway... At least Famous Dave's isn't too bad though...
I always wonder why CP won't convert Midway Market into a clone of sorts, to Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Bring over the chicken recipe, pie, etc... I think that would be fantastic.

I love the idea! As someone that lives in the region (Cleveland) I will have the option to eat food that I normally wouldn't be able to get.
The food is still familiar bar food but with enough of a twist to justify me willing to spend money to try it. Pink's is a regional place but still carry's over and I am willing to spend the money to get options I normally don't get here. Although I still prefer Happy Dogs :)
Personally if you're going to get me to spend money on food (at an amusement park) you need to get me on one of two things: 1) Value and 2) The novelty or uniqueness.
Chick-Fillet and Subway are places I haven't gone to to at Cedar Point. I can get their food elsewhere and I am not willing to spend the extra price.
Just a note: I've been told that the Crab Fries aren't actually made from crabs but from the seasoning used on crabs - Old Bay seasoning.
Interesting, the restaurant website said ESPN named it the #1 sports bar in North America. I wonder if the Chickie's and Pete's at CP will be a full sports bar or a modified "express" version of the concept.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
If Chickie's & Pete's is going to come in as a full service sports bar, I could see it replacing Game Day Grill or possibly going into another existing restaurant (TGIF's???). The location on Gemini midway looks to only be big enough to hold a counter service food stand and not much more. I look forward to hearing more about these plans.

For what it's worth one of the Dorney locations is more of a open-air pavilion/patio style sports bar with flat screens and picnic tables.
Here's Dorney's menu...

Here's a good picture of Dorney's set-up...

Dorney also converted their Game Day Grill into Chickie's & Pete's. Oddly enough, that location was originally a Red Garder Saloon. Here's some info about that conversion...

Worlds of Fun also opened up a Chickie's & Pete's last summer, so I suppose we could have seen signs of this coming if we had paid attention.

I actually tried Chickie's and Pete's last summer in Ocean City, NJ and let me tell you, the Crabfries are amazing. They may sound strange, but they're so delicious. The fries are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and are covered in an Old Bay-like seasoning. They also come with a delicious dip. I could have them everyday if I could, that's how much I love them.

^^Thanks for the menu and pictures! If CP's menu is going to be like Dorney's it will have less sea-food than I had hoped but that is to be expected really.
^I have heard others say the fries were amazing. Can't wait to try them.
If this goes in place of the Game Day Grill I wonder what will go in the updated Gemini Midway? The drawings actually made it look like you could put a full-service restaurant in that corner. However, I may just have lost any sense of scale.
My only wish: Please no tacky vinyl table-clothes.
Also did you notice the mixed drink names on the Dorney menu? Someone funnier than me could make up some jokes of what the CP rides will be on the menu.
Although, are there already places at the park that have mixed drinks named after the rides? I avoid drinking alcohol when I am trying to NOT have a heat-stroke.
I love the idea of having drinks named after some of the star attractions. I'm excited for this restaurant to come and I'm also excited to see where it will be located at.
Aaaand, $6.99 for a bottle of Miller Lite is cheaper than some other public attractions I've been to.
I am interested to see what this I is about! I hope we hear more at the tour coming up!
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
I took a screen cap of the old Gemini Arcade and Gemini Gifts space and looking closer at the area, it seems like it could hold some indoor and patio seating, but not a whole lot of indoor once you factor in kitchen space.

That menu looks really good. I'd definitely pay a visit or two while at the park. Lots of unique offerings you can't get on the peninsula anywhere else. I enjoy seeing unique food offerings around the park that you can't find elsewhere in Ohio, like Pink's.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I am WISHING FOR A FULL BAR!!! With Famous Daves or Fridays being one of the few places to actually get a real drink at CP, does the park need a liquor license or are they covered already? We always hit up Famous Daves for lunch then have a Tanqueray and Tonic or 2 to settle things up before riding again. Not saying you need to be lit to ride but a nice drink or two at the park will make many adults happy and myself included.
^If you like Tanqueray, if you can find it try Hendricks Gin. I love their version of a pot still Gin, very good stuff. It's rare I find another Gin drinker. Favorite drink, but it's rare to find it all together, it's kinda like a Gimlet, but it's a variation. Can do glass or shooter. 1/3 parts each of lime juice, Creme De Violette (Tastes just like a Violet Candy), and any Gin of your choice, I prefer Hendricks in the mix.
On the subject any Bourbon fans?

I like a good gin and tonic on a hot day and am a bourbon fan. I enjoy breakwater cafe as a full bar. It's quiet and if the bugs are not bad has a great patio and I usually take it for a walk down the beach.
