Honestly it dose not have to touch the sun to be big! with all of this technology with LIM's it could be flat on the ground and still be fast and big!!!!!
But like i have said before they need to get a flying coaster like the X-Flight or a fourth Dimension coaster like X-2
^lol although I think a flyer be nice, they don't necessarily "need" one.

Perhaps by the time we reach the 450-500 foot height, there will have been some sort of 90 degree lift -- like an elevator straight out of the station.
I just had to laugh at this considering that vertical lifts are now quite common in new coasters construction.

So CP was all about breaking records and now all of a sudden they're not ?! Who says, one of the higher-ups ? And you don't have to be in a coaster war to want to go over 500 feet !
I was super before Super Stew was cool !
Sorry to dissapoint- Drachen Fire is long gone. The park sold it for scrap metal. They use the Station house for Halloween, and other concert type events now. Anyways, back at the Point...
A B&M Flyer would be my guess as well, because they don't have one. Has anyone heard anything about the site markers over by the Mine Ride?

No, really?
You do realize this thread is more than eight years old, right?

I was amazed too looking at a 9 year old thread that was revived yesterday. Thank you Stew.
Maverick was a great investment and an amazing ride experience no doubt, while Mac if you've seen the track at KD, a small thrilling ride seems unlikely at KD next year (yippee).
Regarding CP, I think there is a flaw in your logic Mac, because the fact is CP is full of past record holders and given it's America's roller coast, you would want that trend to continue. I personally think it's great to ride former record holders, since it's like stepping back in time.
My vote is another record holder at some point in the future, while given the investment going into KD, I suspect 2011 seems plausible.

Umm...
Have you seen all the land clearing and land flatning they are doing at kings dominium?
They have spray paint all over the ground, and they have a huge area in the parking lot with a temperary cyclone fence set up.
To me that says they are building something for next year, not 2011.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Where is it written that a ride (coaster) that holds a record, then loses it, automatically turns to suck-pie status ??
I was super before Super Stew was cool !
Kinzel giving hints? The Sandusky Registar is reporting CP has already ordered their 2010 ride, and it will be aimed for thrill seekers. I can't get the full article, so anyone who can, please post it here.
Next year, the thrill is back.
Cedar Point's new ride for 2011, which already has been ordered but not been announced publicly, will be aimed at thrill seekers, said Dick Kinzel, Cedar Fair's CEO.
The amusement park's long-term plans for new rides is closely veiled.
But during an exclusive Register interview with Kinzel, he pulled the curtain aside a bit.
