New for 2001

I'm afraid if I plead my case, this thread will be closed, but...

Magnum was built 2 years after Iron Dragon which is red. Now why would you build to coaster with the same color 2 years straight? If that's not enough, here's some more.

America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills has shots of Magnum in it's first year of operation with a POV. The color is a DARK ORANGE, but not red.

I may have sealed the fate of this thread, but I hope not.
CP Bound may be right. Well, all I can say is I have copies of the original edited POVs from Magnum which were produced by Dan Feicht in 1989, the tracks look orange. But what's weird is I also have several different arial fly-bys of the ride from 1989 that Dan supposedly took and it sure looks red from up above. Must be the way the light hits the fresh coat of paint
I thought it was red till I just looked at the POV footage again. I guess it was orignally orange after all. Anyways whether it be orange or red I do hope it gets a new coat of paint soon along with the other rides mentioned.

Thank you! Finally after all the earlier posts in other threads, somebody believes me. :)
I seem to recall a Orange tint in 1989, I would actually call it Flambeau Red, Which was the color of old Case Farm Tractors, That way we can all be happy there has to be a point on the color spectrum where red and orange meet and I really think Flambeau red is it.
I have an idea how about everyone calls it "MAGNUM RED" Then everyone will know what every body is talking about.

Here is what we do. Whenever they paint Magnum, I will go to the paint store and get those cards with the different colors on them. We then match Magnums color with the card. I also have That Video, America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills (In 3D! What a lie) and I agree it is somewhat orange. I would not call it dark orange though because right now it is more dark and faded than in the video. I would call it more of a deep bright orange in the video. My eyes, and my VCR are messed up so I am not the one to be making the calls. I like the bright color in the Video, whatever it is. But there has to be some red in it since you need Red, to get orange (primary colors). Whatever color it is, it will still be a great ride. My original idea was to call it MAGNUM colored, but I guess no one liked that idea. Speaking of the video, the best part is

MEAN STREAK WITH NO TRIMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt, that ride on MS looked soooo EXTREME!
I always thought they should have a place in the park to Brag about their roller coasters. All of them from the day they debuted the Switchback in 1892, (It was 25 feet tall and reached a speed of 10 mph") to the present. Each Coaster would have a Plaque, a detailed description and its history.

I've seen some crazy stuff in my time, but that... was... AWESOME!!! But, sorry about your car, man
Hey Punk that actually sounds like something that would be an awesome idea! But I'm all for building a huge coaster museum in Sandusky, too, hehe. I mean we've got carousels, why not coasters too?
