New Employee Questions..

I got hired back in febuary to work at Dount Time. Can anyone tell me what it is like to work there and what the training is like? I would like to work at CP next year too. Which job would any of you recommend. I was thinking about bein a ride host(i kno im thinkin to far ahead but i cant help it. im so excited lol). Last of all what i the hardest part about adjusting to the long hours at CP?

I got to fill in a couple times at Donut time. I don't know if everything is done the same way now, but it can be fun if you let it. My highlight was working the doughnut maker. All I had to do is make sure the doughnuts flipped over properly. Easy enough. You stand in the window, and have your picture taken many times. So bring a smile with ya! Granted it was the opening year when I was doing it, but it was fun. The only special training I ever knew of for that location was on Starbuck's coffee. All other training is the same for everyone in foods. The Park knowledge class (which everyone in the park had to take), and your foods/ guest service training. This involves how and what to say while interacting with a guest and money. They like everyone to be uniform in how to handle money so crooks are easier to spot.

The last thing about DT I remember is you may be asked to work split shifts. Please be reminded I was there 3 years ago, not sure what all has changed! But Donut time was busy in the morning, and around close daily. Business during the day depended on crowd size, and most of all weather. Colder being better! So most likely you can get full days by getting transfering to other locations and returning at night. Trust me, you will get asked, sometimes told to go other places. DO IT, and don't complain about it.. It's how you build up your reputation with management and if you say no, they will send you home any slow day. Plus you get to meet new people and learn other things. Which makes you valuble. Then you can get hours just about anytime you want!

As far as the long hours, they become long if you look at your watch every 5 minutes. Sit there wondering when your next break is. And are a complainer. I used to sing random annoying songs if I got bored. The ones once you hear, you can't stop singing, Or even start doing a little dance. Others would just laugh at me, some would sing along. Thus making the job more fun! After a couple weeks, your body will adapt. The hours are easy and quick if you go in thinking i'm going to have fun. But this becomes much harded if your dealing with relationship drama, hangovers, roommate drama, and did I say drama. It's up to you to avoid this stuff at all costs when working a long day!

I would assume it's one of the portable merchandise carts that are set up on the midways around the park.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

It's the gift shop that is on the main midway inbetween Pagoda and Snoopy Boutique.
