New construction!

Well Screamscape said that it looks like a building going inside Mean Streak so that could very well be Happy Jack's building. They should of thought of that years ago, just hide the building in Mean Streak, no eye sore there :)

A New Haunt is going in there though. It will be announced soon enough.

He probably heard it from a Screamster, or he is one. They keep the worst secrets. It has already been said on this board that it will be a haunted house with a wax museum theme. Obviously that isn't an official announcement but take it for what you want.

It's also on Screamscape.

And, most of us on here knows that everything on Screamscape is true. Screamscape is the Wikipedia of the amusement park industry.

^ He does get stuff right at least 50% of the time. Remember when they posted the rumors about a New Water Ride in 2009 (in which everyone chose not to believe the site and get all upset because they wanted that new coaster and they said that there is no way it'd be a water ride?). Then look at what happened in 2010 for WindSeeker was well. No one believed a large swing type ride wasn't coming though it was hinted at on WindSeeker. I understand that he may post almost everything he gets, but how is that different from some of the rumors we see on this site? When you have so much, something has to be right.

Anyway, spokeswoman Annie Zelm was the one who was talking about Happy Jack's being done once the building is gone.

He posts stuff after reading forums like this. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut every now and then.

A lot of his stuff is right. Even if it's not right, it's somewhat close.

So....that means, if DT is closing July 29th, then when people go to Halloweekends this year, then we may possibly see DT being dismantled and see avalanche run's structure....that would be cool, but I am not sure what their construction schedule is....just a thought.

Screamscape only seems right because he posts every single little tidbit, rumor or hearsay from anywhere on the web. Remember last year when another site claimed that we were getting two coasters for 2012, and the park was hiding the construction progress every night? Yeah, that made it onto screamscape too.

The great irony is that because he posts such a vast amount of nonsense, people automatically think some or even all of it is legitimate. They figure that someone who wasn't in the know couldn't possibly come by such a huge amount of information, so all of the ridiculous crap ends up being legitimized for no other reason than the sheer volume of it. Its like claiming to be good at Roulette because you bet on all 38 numbers.

After DT closes in the 29th, I would think that CP would like to start construction as soon as possible to get as much done before the cold hits in the winter. So I would imagine they would have some footers in before the season ends. I can't imagine what digging holes for footers in frozen ground would be like in the winter.

I have never understood the criticism of screamscape. It's a great site. The site does a good job of reporting findings throughout the industry that aren't just copy and paste news releases. And most of the stuff on the site that are rumors are just that- rumors! He doesn't post them as fact, he states a rumor. Rumors are entertaining, it's fun to read about and speculate what x park may or may not be doing. I loved when the Maverick layout was leaked through Screamscape... A lot of people here didn't like it- but I sure did. It's no different than the Sandusky Register's leak of the 2013 memo, it's just the nature of journalism.

This maybe a little off subject but we drive to cedar point every year from ST.Louis for halloweekends.we love it there.but always wondered about the haunted house they have in town.I think it's open all year.has anybody been in it? And is it worth going ?

Ghostly Manor is pretty good. They also have indoor mini golf.

Back on subject, I think that this bulldozzed area is a sign of construction. Maybe we will lose MS soon, hopefully. Imagine how many steel coasters can go in the spot of MS...
