New Blog with POV info

Im happy that they have a decent website to begin with. You look at any other park page, even Geauga Lakes, and if you want information on a ride you cannot find it.

And everyone is complaining about not having a POV. How many parks actually have these. I think one or two rides on one Six Flags page has it.

As many people have said be grateful for the blog. It is not their obligation to let us know anything before it comes out, or anything behind the scenes because it is just that... BEHIND the scenes.

And last but not least, how many parks purchase high quality webcams for live viewing. And even at the lowest megapixle star dot offers, they are high quality.

Typical T&T blog. We ordered them, you should get excited about it, and it will take until August or so to get them working. Hype, hype, hype... where is the PointCast they promised back around opening day? Isn't it about time they start putting teasers out there for 2008/9?

If you kept your receipt, you can get your money back.

So... Info from Comments:

There will not be a total of 5 webcams. Only 3 total but the current 2 will be moved. (or rather decommissioned for new in their place)

The refresh rate of 60 seconds will not change, because as I had said before... bandwidth issues. *** Edited 6/13/2007 1:21:33 PM UTC by cedarpoint24/7***

CP's website is certainly one of the best if not the best official amusement park website out there. But I find it funny that people think we should be "grateful" for the blog. Doesn't everyone understand who pays Tony and Tyler's salary? It's you and me! They should be grateful to us for visiting their park and shelling out beaucoup bucks for food, games, merchandise, etc.! The least they can do is satisfy our rabid curiosity for more info. I'll agree that they're doing more than others but that's part of why we love CP so much.

Having said that I just can't stand it when they "tease" and sometimes outright lie to us about what is going on, but I guess that's the nature of the business and their confidentiality agreements.

^^ and the difference is?

"We are awaiting the arrival of three brand-new, shiny awesome webcams from our friends at StarDot Technologies" (this implies that the two old ones will be taken down and put away until further notice)

But it is still their private property and have no legal obligation to tell us what is going on. They choose to let us in on behind the scenes information to keep us coming back. (not that the coasters dont)

They put this blog in place to show that they care about the customers and care what people think of the park. But by no means do they HAVE to give us this information.

No we love CP because they provide great service, and keep all of their rides in like new condition and have world class roller coasters.

Again they get the publics attention and keep them coming back to read more.

^^ When, exactly, did they lie to us?

They arn't implying anything. For all you know they could be trading them in for credit towards the new cameras. All the blog says is that once they are done there will be thre views to chose from . Not 4, not 5, not 6. Three.

I like the cleveland cam.

Sounds like these new webcams will have some sort of filtering technology to keep a good image even when facing into the sun. Either that, or they'd have to make them pivot over time.

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

Sounds to me as if they will actually pivot a bit. But who knows.

I believe it's called an auto iris, that allows the image to always be viewable in varying light.

All of their rides such as Disaster Transport? ;) And I'd be interested in seeing a poll on how many people think food service is acceptable overall or could use some improvement.

I was by no means suggesting that they are legally obligated to blog. It's just that we don't need to be grateful for it like they're doing us a favor. As Kinzel always makes abundantly clear, everything is "economics" and they think that blogging brings in more money one way or another.

And maybe the word lying was too strong. How about "mislead"?
