Neglected Rides

I always have at least one day a year where i abuse myself by indulging in all of the flats.

Troika is by far the best, even in the new location. Then there is the Witch's Wheel, Ocean Motion, Calypso, Cedar Downs and the Swings!

I can't think of any flat that the park would be better off without. In fact i feel that it would be in the parks best interest to add some old school fun flats from years past. Rides like the Whip and Bug. I'm sure that there is someone out there who could build it for them. Great rides like that do a lot for a park to help keep people busy and keep the midways from clogging up with people.

Yeah... sliding down diaster was fun... actually i forget who it was, but there was a ride op who actually tried using a trash bag to slide down it with mixed results.

Disaster is the best when its shut down for rain and is fishtailing like mad! Okay, here's the thing.. if you look up in the tunnels it looks like there are stars, well, those are holes in the ceiling... not themeing. So if the track gets wet, the shuttles lose traction, and slide all over. They shut down the ride and keep sending shuttles, but every so often a ride host gets to be guinea pig and hop in. Well, the back slides out it runs all the way up the corners and it slams into the guard.WILD RIDE!!! some of the most fun i've ever had in the park.

I love Mean Streak!!!! It has always been one of my favorite rides in the entire. Some neglected rides that I love include Demon Drop, Trokia, Calypso, and of course the Antique Cars.

I'm a sucker for Calypso, Matterhorn, Super Himilaya, Witches Wheel, and Chaos. My favorite by far is Calypso :)

I have to say, I also like the Frog Hopper, but I'm too tall to ride it...

I miss Sky Slide.

What about The Midway Carosel? It's a true classic.

Yeah, Kyle, Sky Slide was host to many a great time... and epic friction burns.

Many of you have said how CP would not be the same without the classics. With that, and by the looks of the WWL site, do you think that Cedar Point could start to ignore the classics for the mega attractions of the future? Could the day come where the coasters of our generation are taken out for something else?

Cedar Point - An adventure waiting for everyone.

The day will come. Eventually. It may take 100 years, but they will all be gone.

Yes - Someday MF and TTD will be the "Classics"... And our Grandkids will want to go on the "Tame" rides to warm up on...

I still think the human body has certain limits, and they're being approached fast. I think they will all be gone someday, but they won't be treated as really small rides.

^Yeah, the taller and faster rides have gone through their phase. In the next 10-15 years I'd expect to see some new styles of rides with some interesting layouts that just have the fun factor.

I can only hope so Gomez... Personally Id take Coasters like Cornball Express at IB over Dragster anyday... Sorry for all the Dragster fans....

Its a great ride, and is an amazing rush, but I can ride Cornball Express 10 times in the time it takes one lap on Dragster, and I personally have a lot more fun.

If I want a huge adrenaline rush, Ill ride TTD
If I want to have fun, I'll ride elsewhere...

Dont get me wrong... Cornball was just an example of one of my favorite smaller coasters... CP has its share of fun rides as well...

^I am a Dragster fan and I agree with you. Even though TTD may be my favorite, I don't like riding it over and over again until I get sick. There are other rides such as Gemini and Blue Streak that are just enjoyable and can be ridden many times without the feeling of being to much.

I'm the complete opposite. I could ride it alllllll day (not that I'd ever get sick). That's probably where you and I are different when it comes to being a Dragster fan.

But the point is that we're the 2 biggest fans on the site and we love riding it. After all, isnt that what matters?:)
