I know that this has been discussed before, but since it is getting down to the final weeks (i hope), what are your picks or guesses on what the name of this ride will be?

I could see American Scream or something like that, i have a hunch that it will be somewhat patriotic. I also like the Dragster idea.

I don't think it will be patriotic, and I also don't think that these are the "final weeks". We'll just have to see...

I vote for "The Great Space Coaster"

If you remember that show, you truly are old!

Corkscrew doesn't have a patriotic name, what makes you think this one will?

Something with the word "Dragster" in it. Like maybe Speed Dragster, or something else.

What does this have to do with anything? This is going to be a totally new ride (for the park) and for all that most of us know, it could be anything.

How about baklash, or is it a little too literal?

RlrCstr, that has to do with the fact that Cedar Point celebrated the bicentennial of the country when they installed Corkscrew in 1976. They didn't name it anything patriotic back then. I still like the names Ballistic and Terminal Velocity.

I think they should name the coaster Alan.

If they can name a 50's car-themed burger joint "Coasters", they should by all rights name the nearby car-themed coaster "Hamburgers".

Put my vote in for Skyscraper. IMO, the name speaks for itself, it's easily marketable, and also easily remembered.

I like that name Dave, but after 9/11, Skyscraper probably wouldn't be an appropriate name. If they can't name a coaster Banshee, I'm quite sure this one won't fly.

Ok, Why are all of you thinking about good names? We all know CP comes up with names that are trash. I mean come on "Wicked Twister", "Millennium Force", Gemini and the list goes on.I mean the new one will probably be called something rather dumb like: Xtreme Force, Blaster ,*Electro-Blast* : )...., Red Racer or Rocket Racer or maybe everybody is right about Dragster?? But still they were not thought up good!!

I don't think they will make it patriotic either. With all of this liberal political correctness bullsh** these days, if they make it patriotic someone will sue them saying they were offended because they're from another country or something.

Sure, that makes sense. No, they won't make it patriotic because it'll seem crass and opportunistic.

Anyhoo, I still vote for the name Alan. Or perhaps Beatrice.

I took Dragster to be the class of ride this is considered at Intamin. Look at the pic of the MF Car packing list on this site. It says "Giga Coaster Car" or something to that effect, it never mentions "Millennium Force",that packing slip saying Dragster I think is just their internal code for this class of launched coaster. It seems to make sense to me,maybe not to everyone else, but reading packing slips hundreds of times a day where I work, this seems to be on the right track anyway.
