Mystery Solved?

I agree with Gomez. Hopefully this coaster will be one that is just a lot of fun. I also think many will be disappointed by this new ride as I don't think it will break any records. I think it will be a fun family type coaster.

Thrills Around the Corner!

Personally, I would be shocked if this ride doesn't break some record. CP has set a standard of record-breaking rides! MF, WT, TTD, maXair, and Skyhawk were ALL record breaking rides in some way when they were built.

I'm not saying that Project 2007 is going to be the tallest and fastest anything. I don't think it will. But, I am saying that it would be very unlike CP to not have this ride break at least one or two other records. (Especially with all the hype they've been building on OnPoint and with the western theme construction signs.)

Bottom line for me is that I love a new ride. Period. I'm excited to find out what it will be, and I'm already excited to ride come next season.

This thread is still open, so I'm guessing Walt has the day off.

I don't think MaxAir broke any records when it opened. The Huss "giant-frisbee" has a one size model for amusement parks.

You're correct. Unless I'm wrong, Maxair didn't break any records. I do know that Delirium at PKI is a little bit taller and a little bit faster.

I don't know if I should even bother to comment on a thread of this idiocy, but here goes. Ingenieurbuero Stengel is NOT a roller coaster manufacturer, ZeroChance. They are an engineering firm that works WITH manufacturers and theme parks to design roller coasters and other amusement devices. They have, according to their website, 460 coasters to their credit. Just because they have done engineering work on several Intamin rockets does not mean that this is what Project 2007 will be! Just what makes you think "mystery solved"?

Well, Delirium is a foot taller than maXair, but maXair has a max swing of 140' versus Delirium's 137'. Both travel at 70 mph.

Well I guess it's time for me to put my two cents into this guessing game. I've been reading alot of the comments on this site on many different threads about the same thing. I've not once felt the urge to say anything....until now. Based on what I've seen in photos, and at the job site, I have come up with some possibilities as to what this ride may be like. I do feel that it be LIM powered at some point in the ride. I don't think it will be all that tall of a ride either. As far as breaking records? Besides the obvious "most coasters", I think one of the records will be "most 'sideways' turns". And I'm thinking those turns will be somewhere between 80 and 90 degrees. You don't have to agree or disagree with me. These are just my observations. That's all!!

I've heard from a few people that the Breaking Records will be the FASTEST COASTER in the WORLD & the Most Twisters in the COASTER too.

According to a couple of web sites I've read, Delirium travels at 76 mph to Maxair's 70. Not that it really matters. Just what I've read.

i'm sorry but twisters? what are those?

I'm not being sarcastic here just fyi. I've never heard of twisters before...

Hmm... Apparently there is some discrepancy...

When I searched again, I found 4 sites listing 70mph, one listing 78mph, and one listing 76mph...

guess CP needs somethin new other then these crappy rides they've been installing.

....crappy rides? Exactly where did they start to get crappy?? Their latest bunch (millennium force, wicked twister, top thrill dragster, skyhawk, maxair) are all insane rides, and if you think they're all crappy, then i seriously doubt you've ridden them.

My guess is that it was designed at 70 mph but just as TTD goes well over 120 mph Delirium may very well go 76 or 78 mph.

And if he has ridden them and still thinks they're crappy, he can go somewhere else. Just makes the lines a little bit shorter for those of us who enjoy them.

Maybe I'm biased, but I thought Delirium looked smaller than maXair, and I found it a very tame ride compared to maXair. I don't remember getting much air or positive Gs at all.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

My family and I went to Hershey Park last Wednesday. It is an extremely nice park and it exceeded my expectations.

In any event, the coaster Storm Runner, to me, looks very similar to what actually may be being erected currently at the Point. The track is the same color, as are the steel supports. Even similarities can be made about placement of the coaster in each of the respective parks. Storm Runner also goes over water which looks like will happen with this ride at CP as well.

I haven't spend an absorbent amount of time analyzing this, just a quick observation. Hopefully, I get no flaming from just my hasty 2 cents...

This is exactly what they mean when they say we're going in a whole new direction...

They're not going to be breaking all those records like they normally do. Sure, there will be something that they can use to market the ride, but it is going to be different this time.

Actually, MaxAir broke two records when opened. The highest swinging frisbee (140') and the tallest frisbee (84').

The one at PKI isn't as tall (80') and the swing is only 137'.
