i was roped into taking a trip to castaway bay yesterday. the only waterpark i had ever been to is boomerangbay. being a rookie at this, i didn't know what to expect. once i found someone to watch my dog, the amazing krepso, we were off. we were able to check in early and got started. i thought the whole place was quite nice. boomerangbay overwhelmed me and castaway didn't intimidate me at all. we had a good time on that water coaster. i ran out for pizza just before sunset and sneaked over to battery park for my first trip there. i took some nice snapshots and a few videos. if i were more internet savvy, i would put up my footage. being a retired eccentric, i have limited computer knowledge. later in the evening, two members of my party began coughing and couldn't stop. they became the victim of too much chlorine in an enclosed environment. if it wasn't for that, it would have been a good trip. i doubt that i'll ever go back. we decided to go to soak city if we need waterpark fun. i understand why they have to go defcon 5 with the chlorine so i have no ill feelings against cedar fair. i spent too much time wishing it was warm and i was enjoying cedar point. if anyone is sitting on the fence like i was, go ahead and at least try it once. all it costs is your time and money.
i live at the saint pia zadora golden buckeye retirement community
Funny you mentioned the chlorine smell. We commented to each other about the LACK of the smell. Usually, your skin/hair/suit reeks of that smell after being in waterparks. We couldn't smell it when we were there and there was none of the burning, red eyes.
Just lucky, I guess.

Does anyone know if they "shock" the pools after guest accidents? If so, that might explain an overabundance of chemicals.
