My Rants..

Sorry about posting this thread Jeff but I think its justified..

1) Whats up with CP overcharging for a large pop and not giving you a lid or a straw for your drink? Don't they know that mayflies love to swarm into your drink?

2) Hamburger combo (Fries and medium drink) price is $8. Now, If I remember isnt there a McDonalds right outside the park? I mean, ok, This rant may not be justified because you are on their land and you have to pay whatever the price is for food (I could debate this but lets not.) but to charge .80 cents for count it ONE pickle is alittle exteme..

3) T-Shirt prices, Now I haven't bought a T-Shirt from CP since the cost of T-Shirts was $12. Now they are $22.. Interesting..

4) TTD sign says the ride is working and you get your hopes up to ride the darn thing and BOOM!, The sled goes up and goes right back down to the launching pad..Nice rollback. Could they at least not lie about the ride working?

5) Don't you love it when you try to get into line at the front turnstyles and some people love to block off the line because their child is too small to ride? Please move to the side and argue your point even though you are going to lose. (Trust me I have been there many times.)

6) The Cedar Creek Mine ride, Okay, How long is train #3 back car going to broke? It was broke last year and again this year? Did someone negelct to tell them that standing in line for the back car when CP is running 2 trains is not fun.

Okay, enough of my venting, if you have anymore please post.

The pop is a little pricy and the food is a rip off while you can just go to the midway market buffet and get all u can eat for 11$.
I guess you're just "TooCool" for Cedar Point.

Ya...I agree...but I also hate it when they put in the tallest and fastest coasters on the planet. What makes me more mad is the fact that the park is always clean. Oh well... I think the food is a little over priced (but thats why you bring your own stuff) and souveniers (sp?) are as well, but where else are you gonna get that stuff??

Oh yeah, and don't you hate people who complain too much....look at ALL the things CP does have and stop focusing on the things that it doesn't have.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Are your ready for some speed? We've got 120 miles per hour! Are you ready to get vertical? We've got 420 feet. Are you ready for the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world?! ARE YOU READY FOR TOP THRILL DRAGSTER?!?

i agree that the "value" meal is a total rip off at $8. thats why i dont eat there any more. Ever since i got my parking pass we can leave the point, go to McDonald's get a value meal for $4 and then come on back for some more coaster riding.

Why is that any reason to get mad? Your mad because its clean but if they just left everyone all over the midways and on the grass and stuff you'd be just as mad.

I guess I am toocool for Cedar Point since I bought a season pass... HMMM... I believe I am entitled to rant since I have been going to the park since 1979..

gerg I think you missed the sarcasm. At least i hope that statement was sarcastic.

Gee, if you are "entitled" to rant because you have being "going to the park since 1979", then WHAT am I "entitled" to since I have been going to the park since 1962?

Keep the whining to a minimum. CP is in the entertainment BUSINESS...If you want to "compare costs", do it in similar arenas. ie other Amusement Parks, Major League Baseball, a Concert, etc.

If you look at any of these similar entertainment products you will see CP is not "out of line" in it's pricing structure. They are entitled to what the market will pay. Look at last season when for about 2 months(?) the Pepsi machines were $3.00. Sales must of lagged as the price did come down to $2.50.

Compare CP to other entertainment choices and I bet you will see the VALUE, CP offers.

Old Timer, if you've been going to the park since 1962 and TooCool's been going since 1979, then by simple math you should be entitled to boycott the park!

But, I shouldn't be talking since I've only been going to the park since 1994, which means...I can just mutter these *horrific*, *terrible* problems to myslef. That's right, myslef.

Its not like CP is the only park that doesn't give you a lid and straw. CP isn't the only park that gets bugs. I don't see how bugs can fly into your drink if you are drinking it and not leaving it sitting around.

KPTM

Bugs will land where they want to at random. I never had one land in my pop, but did have one land in my nachos.

I love Cedar Point for all that it has to offer. But the one thing that bugs me the most is what I refer to as "price gouging". Particularly in the area of foodservice. But it's not as if Six Flags or PKI is any different in this practice. It's all about how many millions of dollars they can make in a season.

I know that this came up probably a couple of years ago, but I cannot prove whether or not it is factual. But isn't the middle of June the time of year when CP has brought in enough money to pay all of their operating expenses for the rest of the season and all money taken in after that is all profit?

1) I dont know about the straws and caps. In zoo parks they don't give them because it could be harmful to the animals. Save the petting farm, this isn't a zoo. Interesting question there.

2) You are a captive audience. They wont stop you from leaving to get the .99 burger. But its so hard to leave the park. So they can charge more money because there is no where else for you to eat.

3) Same deal with the food. Where else are you going to get a CP t-shirt? Don't forget inflation though... prices rise over time.

4) Seems like it was working when you got to it. Which means it was working when you passed the sign. They can't predict the future.

5) That sucks. Just push your way through them. If someone yells at you say to them: "Its a ride entrance, not a wall".

6) I don't think its broken. I think they just don't feel the need to put another train on when Mine Ride isn't such a popular ride.

7) Some people here won't let a person vent. Some questions he had were valid ones. I swear one of these days you people are going to rip eachother's heads off.

You forgot to add:

1. Jimmy Carter is not President

2. Gas prices are not $.70 anymore

3. The ozone is much thinner now

4. USA has not won a gold medal in hockey since 1980

5. The Lake Erie water level is very low

6. At the age of 18 you can vote for your country, and die for it as well, but you have to wait 3 years to be legally drunk.

7. You could not make everyone happy in 1979 or in 2003

T-Shirts are actually quite cheap. Most are 19 or 22 dollars. Thats about comparable to any t-shirt you'd go buy at the mall..... I mean sure you could buy a cheap $5 shirt at walmart or something, but its not going to have something cool on it... No sports logos, no cedar point. When you compare it to concert shirts, they're a great deal! I paid $33 for an Ozzfest shirt last year ;) I'm cool, yeah!!! :) Seriously, though, I think the tshirts are quite fairly priced. Average of $20 per shirt is not too much to ask. Seriously.

by the way, if you get a Getawayguide you can get 2 shirts for under $30 at Heading West... I got myself a Dragster shirt and my girlfriend a Cedar Point shirt for $28.50. So I got two shirts for under the price of what Ozzfest charged.

Anyway, just a little rant of mine :)

Hey with the bugs landing in your drink, look at it this way. You are not only getting a refreshing drink, you are also getting protien (sp).
You can also get the same "protein" riding roller coasters with your mouth "open"! (especially at night)
Never in my life has the fast food service been so horribly slow. Don't go to ;) McDonalds ;) on the way into CP. The experience in the drive thru can easily shorten your lifespan by 5 years. ;) McDonalds ;) is awful.

Why can't people have bad things about the park? And if they do, why do they need to be treated like what they said was pointless?
