We arrived at the park around 8:30am Monday morning did the pre-register thing at Breakers and got the resort card to get in at 9am. Looked at the board in the Breaker lobby and saw that MF and Raptor were the morning rides for that day. Whitney noticed that Dragster had been testing so she suggested we go by it when we got in.
We waited a few minutes at the Magnum entrance, the gates open and we walk to Dragster. The last time we were at CP was on June 5th, one of the days the cable broke. I had convinced Whitney to try dragster that day, but wasn’t sure if she would be willing to try it this time.
We notice that the line wasn’t that long, so we decided to wait. The ride attendant at the entrance to the ride said that Dragster was not open at this time, just as he got done saying that, the line opened. I looked at Whitney, asked if she was going, and to my surprise she said yes.
We waited maybe 20 minutes to ride, once strapped into the train Whitney got really really quiet. This is what she does when she is nervous. The train moves into the load position. I put my hand on her knee and tell her it will be over in a few seconds, she just smiles. YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW GREEN, and we are off. We get to the top of the hill I look at Whitney and she puts her hands up for the ride down. Get to the brakes and she is screaming how much she loves the ride and wants to go again. So we get in line again, the wait this time is about 35 minutes. Strapped in again, we launch and this time she has her hands up the entire time. She buys her on-ride pic, off to Donut time we went.
Day one was a good day, it started to rain around 6 or so, but we still rode everything in the park. MF hurts in the rain, felt like little hails hitting my face. Ouch.
Day two was spent ride more coasters and thrill rides. We also went and saw Snoopy Rocks on Ice. Very good show, the weather brought light rain or drizzle most of the day. Managed to get another ride on TTD in the afternoon, when the rain let up.
At night we saw the summer spectacular, towards the end of the show we saw TTD testing, since Whitney is now obsessed with this ride we decided to go over as soon as the show was over. I really wanted a night ride, since I have never had one.
Ride opened around 10:45 or so. Broke down a couple of times, but since we knew we would ride if they got it fixed we stayed in line. Around midnight we got on. Front row night ride. Wow, what a rush. Whitney hates the front row and will never do it again.
Day three weather finally breaks and it is a wonderful day with nothing but sunshine. Went into the park for a couple hours, then decided to go to Soak City. I haven’t been to Soak City since I was 8, we had a ton of fun. The swim up bar was fun, spent about 3 hours or so there. Forgot the sunscreen so I got a little burnt.
Went back to the room and slept for a little while. After a little nap we went back into the park. Got another night ride on TTD and that completed day three.
Day four final day, we slept in this day, we got into the park at around 10:30am or so and rode more coasters and thrill rides. Got another ride on TTD. We got 7 rides on TTD in four days, bringing my count to 10. Left the park around 6:30 and headed home. Overall this was a wonderful trip to CP and Soak City.
I heard some very funny things while waiting in-line for rides. One of the best was in line for TTD, when a guy told his wife that the tower is taken apart every winter so the winds off Lake Erie don’t blow it over. We rode every coaster in the park at least 3 times while we were at CP.
Whitney went from not wanting anything to do with TTD to loving it. I finally have a ride partner for everything in the park except Power Tower. *** Edited 8/3/2004 10:28:41 PM UTC by wingnut***
