My appologies!

I have been to Michigan's Adventuer (MiA) 3 times (so far) this season and have logged 32 rides on ST. NEVER have I felt it was rough! What the heck is this person comparing ST's "roughness" to? It's no rougher than Gemini, for goodness sake!

Wow. I rode ST a few times last Wednesday and found it to be running very well. Great floaters up front and stand-up air in the back. They've even done some retracking in the helix which smoothed it out some from last year.

Agressive, maybe. But not rough.

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

I never took my four year old niece to Michigan Adventure yet but I find plenty for her to do at Cedar Point Amazement Park. She could spend hours in Kiddy Kingdom (do they call it that anymore?) without having to wait in any lines, though many of the rides do just go in circles, she enjoys all of them. If you get through all of those rides, than you can go to what was once Barrenstein Bear Country, it might not be big on rides, but you can definitely have fun jumping rope or throwing a ball or something with your child.

Towards the back of the park, you have the Gemini Children's area which isn't half as good as the wonderfully decorated with those children rides, they have those two rollercoasters that are just for them. Actually I think they dropped that Woodstock Express rule, but who see's adults on there anyway?

If that doesn't take up your whole day with all the repeats, I am sure there are some rides that your child can get on with you, I am shocked to see how short some children are that can get on certain rides. But if all those other children areas and giving them time to rest and/or taking them to stop for food doesn't take up your whole day, they will be more than happy with all the shows that are offered.

You have snoopy on ice which looks like it would be interesting, I can personally say that The Splash show is fantastic/breathtaking and the Karaoke/performance at Camp Snoopy was fun to watch. Just going around and seeing the rides is an experience, how tall is your child, there is plenty for anybody at Cedar Point.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

Ok, I've come to eat my hat. I took my oldest son(9) to CP today. Shivering Timbers is no rougher than Mean Streak. They both beat the tar out of me. When I get off a ride with a near migrane headache, I know it was too rough for me. I'm not a kid anymore, so things like this affect me more. Sorry, if I've offended any of the ST lovers here. It just wasn't for me. Vince, on the other hand, loved it. AHH, to be young again.

Oh, and I know exactly what Cedar Point has to offer to the younger crowd (meaning small children). But thanks anyway. Zackie has a real good time at CP, too. I think, maybe, all the wondering if the trip was worth it is what made it so great. I was seriously prepared for a big letdown. Surprise!

This is what's so great about Cedar Fair parks, is that every park they have offers something for everyone, even the water parks have something for kids of all ages, but I tend to look at them in different ways, I see Cedar Point as a destination for some of the best coasters on the planet, I say some, because there are other types of coasters elsewhere that I belive to be better, I see MIA as a smaller park, and perhaps more towards the family side, but thats just me. According to Rob Decker, some great things are being planned for that park....

BTW, agree very much with the attitudes. Guide To The Point does not mean strictly CP posts or be struck down by lightning, lay off, everyone,...will ya?
