I decided to go to bed right after Conan O'brien, at about 2:30. I'm not tired. So I catch a re-run of Leno. And I'm still not tired. Well, to get to the point (no pun intended ), I decided that sleep was for the weary, and we left at about 7. We made good time, about 2.5 hours, and we got in to the park about 10 min after opening.
We took a fast paced walk down the main midway, and we headed off to the right towards the Gemini midway. We got to Magnum, and it was a two train wait, so they rode it while I find a locker to stash my camera in.
I met up with them at the Maggie exit after locking up the cam, and we head over to Gemini and catch a lap. The B side was down, but it was still a great ride. After that, we head over to Mean Streak, which was also a walk on.
Now I had never been on Mean Streak, so this was gonna be my maden voyage. Well, I took the advice that I had read in a few posts, and I sat towards the front of the train, and leaned foward. What a ride! That is hands down one of my favorite coasters ever. I was blown away... I expected a horrible ride, and I was pleasently surprised. Yay for Mean Streak!
Still amazed by Mean Streak, we headed back and caught a lap on Mine Ride. It was good fun as always, but now I was ready for some serious riding, so I forced everyone to go back and ride Maggie again. I sit last row and we set off. Now is it just me, or does that ride get better each and every time I ride it? It reminded me why that's my favorite coaster... mmmm... airtime.
Well, we go to hit Corkscrew, and Iron Dragon, but they both had 30 min waits, so we skipped them and went over to Mantis. We waited about an 1.5 hrs to ride... grrrr. We decided to wait for front seat, and let me say... WOW. I knew Mantis was fun, but in the front seat, that thing REALLY delivers. Great ride... plenty of G's, and nothing obstructing your veiw really added to the inversions.
By now it was 1, just about lunch time, so we headed back to the front of the park. I got some fries, and my uncle decided (and I quote) "Good Lord! I'm not paying that damn much for something to drink!" So we headed out to the van to get some pops out of the cooler.
Well, we're all sitting in the van, eating our lunch, when it started to rain... and I mean rain. I started to curse the 'rain gods' untill everyone started to run out to their cars... and I realized that it must have been "really see-thru white t-shirt day," Yumm.... hehe
So anyway, we get this genius idea to wait untill the rain is a bit lighter, and run to the Force. Well, so did everyone else, so we got to the Force to find an hour and half wait. So we skipped it and headed over to Iron Dragon. We ended up waiting about 5 min. We got front seat, and leaked all over, but it was a fun ride none the less.
I then decided that I need my Raptor fix, so we headed over to find a 45 min wait. Now I don't know if it was the humidity, or the new paint, or the fact that I sat back row right, but Raptor was completley insane! It was the BEST ride I had EVER had on Raptor... crazy. I was yanked around that drop, like I was gonna fly out, and It felt like my face was going to be ripped off in that loop. WOW.
Well, by now I was getting sick of dealing with my little cousins, so My 12 year old cousin from California (Not much better) and I went off on our own. We went for a ride on Wild Cat, and then for some reason, we headed over to Blue Streak. I hadn't been on it in 7 years, so I was looking foward to it. It was great fun, and there were no lines, so we got 4 rides. One thing I did notice was that the Blue Streak crew seemed really pissy. They all looked like they hated their jobs seemed very out of place at CP.
Well, once we did that, we headed to the train and took that to Mean Streak. We got another ride, just as good as the first, and we stopped to get some food seeing as how it was like 7ish. I got some more fries, and then we were heading over to Magnum when we walked by Gemini. They were running both trains, so I got my cousin to ride. Back seat, last car, red train. We both LOVED it... it was one of the best rides I've ever had on Gemini, and to top it off, NO lines. It was a 2-3 train wait the whole time. Well, we decided to re-ride, and I snagged back seat red again. I left my lap bar 2 clicks to loose, and the lady who was on the mike came over and stapled me. Well, we decided that we were having so much fun on Gemini, that we would do a mini-marathon. After some experimenting, we found that the front row of the last car on red was the best place to sit, so we sat there every time. The same lady would come and staple me, even if my bar was down... so I decided to check her name tag... Sabrina. I thought "Hey, maybe that's the one Rob's talks about from time to time?"
Well, when we got done with our 9 Gemini laps, we hit Magnum again... unbelieveable as always, and then we finally got a Corkscrew ride. Not bad... still bangs you around. We headed to Raptor and rode that again. Same seat as before... CRAZY ride. I've always liked Raptor... but now it seems better. Didn't know that was possible.
Well, anyway, after 3 more Blue Streak laps, we all met up at the Midway Carousel at 10:30, and we were forced to leave, due to a complaining driver... grrrr.
Well, anyway, it was a good time and I learned a few things:
1. Never wear Chuck T's... flat bottomed shoes suck to walk around in for that long.
2. Don't tell your cousin if he mentions Knott's one more time, you're going to punch him in the throat... the people in line will yell at you.
3.NEVER, under any conditions, skip Blue Streak.
4. Dippin' Dots are good.

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's Airtime Nazis! You know, the ride ops who push down instead of pull up on the lap bar? What's the point of a ride such as MF or Magnum if your stapled? Being stapled on Magnum just flat out hurts.

I love my Chucks... I'm going to get another pair soon (Maybe red). I was just saying that flat bottomed shoes are hard on the feet when your standing in line and running back and forth between coasters that much.
By they way Joe E... HAHAHAHAHA! I would gladly shell out 20 bucks for that add-on :).
