Raptor Ralph and I joined Servo's group and we had a great time. We arrived on Saturday at 5 pm to a full park and my first ride was Magnum. Immediately found that my size was of no consequence. Raptor Ralph said that MF was just as smooth so I was anxious to give Millie a try. We had to meet the rest of our party at Friday's and with the lines there wasn't enough time to give her a try. Our room at Breakers had a full view of MF so Raptor Ralph was in seventh heaven, "there she is, there's my baby, etc, etc." when we drove in he had the temerity to refer to MF as something from a Chuck Jones cartoon as I was saying you expect me to ride that beast?! A U2 song was suggested but in my mind the theme from 2001: A Space Odessey was playing. Sleep can be difficult when you dream of images in utter terror. Rumors of my death were not greatly exaggerated. The following morning we ran into Servo and she wanted to join me on MF for my first run except that MF was down for maintenance. Instead we went for two laps with WT and ran into Ralph Wiggum. I was in the rear seat and really enjoyed that. I didn't think my feet were about to be chopped off at all, even though that topic of discussion was huge when we entered the line again. I took two advil for the pain in my shoulder and that worked wonders. We went back to Millie and she was working so I was dropped like a lead balloon at 10:10am on Sunday the 19th. On my internal clock it was still 7:10 in the morning, who needs coffee? Millie was so smooth and I'm sure if you were at CP the sound of my windbreaker rippling permeated the entire park. It reminded me of a parachute, except there was no parachute. This being Sunday, I recited the Our Father on the ascent, "Our Father who is in heaven, I am in heaven..." The first adrenaline buzz had worn off of Servo and I could tell that this was beyond what the dr. ordered. We were in the red car and on the first drop, my posterior rose ever slightly and we were in the "air car" to begin with so my flying sensation was enhanced. No time to even utter help me on the drops and full recovery only came after trying to unbuckle myself three times. The line was too long so we went to Gemini to find the rest of our group. It was here that the third maintence period happend and a new car was loaded on to the track, something new for all of us to see. It was a wash waiting twenty minutes longer because that many folks had already exited the line. Servo has already mentioned Magnum Dan Jr. and he has the air of owning CP by this weekend. He is something like Raptor Ralph and myself, a freak of nature. We had another spin on Magnum and as we exited Jr blurted out Millenium Force!, emphasis added. We had our freeway stamps so that is what happened. Jr had eight laps on MF at last count. On Monday we took in Maggie, Gemini, Blue Squeak, DT, and spent a long lunch hour at Midway Market, there were tons of students still adding a lively touch to the day. My local theme park in Valencia, CA has no clue of speed at this point, a complete waste of time for me now. I can now take the first drop on MF with my arms raised and after only one spin all day Monday, I was very anxious to make my final day here count. I wish the drone we heard fourteen times on Tuesday would add some humor like, warning your eyes may become impacted. The sun reflecting off the lake became blinding but I had no complaints with the weather irregardless. The early enter pass finally was worth its salt and we had five laps within the first hour. And the yellow car was working, we had that back to back on the first and second rides of the day. There was no trim on the first lap and it rocked, that was the best ride of the seventeen laps I did. After a quick lunch we were in for three more laps. We made sure to avoid the blue car and would wait for the back seats in order to let it pass. From four pm to six-thirty Raptor Ralph and I had six laps, five of them on yellow, and the last three of four in the rear seats! I'm really anxious for Halloweekends and my next trip, hope that the weather holds for that!
