My 1st day as a CP employee began for me Friday Sept 8th. Got my ID badge, wardrobe (Donatos Pizza uniforms look like to me) checked into housing. Let me just say that I had read threads here before about the housing and eeek....
or maybe its just because I have my own house-my own bathroom? No, it is just plain eeek. So eek in fact, despite that my 1 roommate was MIA the entire weekend, I refused to let my boyfriend come back to my room-thats how eeeeek it was/is.
Could the bathroom there smell any moldier??
None the less-you make the best with what you have so I did.
The most exciting thing for me was once dressed reported back to Raptor to begin my day as a ride op for the BESTEST ride in the park!! It took me about an hour to get the hang of all the load/unload positions, dispatch, crowd control and even main control (too cool!!) and after chickening out 6x was finally forced to do the speels-after a couple of studders and stupid words I finally got the hang of that too. (Knew the speel by heart just from riding Raptor, saying it to a ton of people alittle different!)
The worst part has got to be entrance, and I have to apologize to any ride op who I even said that "am I too short to ride?" line too--I am SOOO sorry-I had no clue that 3 out 5 people say that over and over and over again. The parents seem to be the worst guests insisting that their child is 54". The best part? The test ride!
After my 1st day on Raptor I had a whole new appreciation for how hard the ride ops all work. Trust me when I say NO guest has ANY clue how hard they all work until they do what is done.
Did I like working there?
I LOVE my fellow Raptor crew they are all awesome!
I am scheduled for the next 5 weekends--
And I will be there!! CANT wait!
(sore fingers and all, thanks to main control and dispatch!)
So sit up right-hold on tight-and enjoy your flight on Raptor here @ Cedar Point!!
