Music on rides

What do you think about certain rides having music such as Chaos and the Matterhorn. I like it as long as they have more than 2 or 3 songs that you hear over and over again. Years ago when I worked at Burger patio, the Calypso was across from us and we heard "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys at least 6 times and hour. We got so sick of that song.
I don't like it. I know lots of rides that have it and it does get annoying after awhile if you don't like the song or even if you do you won't for long.

While it may get annoying for the employees, I think the music is a necessary part of the ride experience.

The music is great for the riders! It makes for a perfect day: fun, sun, music and rides!

Well when I was a guest my friends and I even noticed that were heard Funky Town at least 4 times during the day, which was a bit much. Thankfully last year about halfway through the season they added a vew more songs to the Frontier Trail loop. It was really annoying sitting in the field of Thunder Canyon and hearing the same songs cycled every hour.

What are you talking about? (plasters on fake smile)

I absolutely LOVE hearing the same 7 songs over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again for six months straight.

Beleive it or not, there is an area of the park where you can't hear music at all unless the park is nearly empty and the rides are closed. The area by Magnum, Witches' Wheel and back through Monster. There are speakers there, but you can't hear anything. So if you want a quiet place to relax without hearing the same songs over and over, go there and watch Dragster train. Unless someone investigates that area and turns up the volume.

It was always boring sometimes at Witches' Wheel cause it was always the exact same sounds every 2 minutes over and over. Music would have been nice.

What do you mean CP_bound?! Funky Town IS Cedar Point to me! I heard it so many times every time I was there that it started to not be CP untill I heard Funky Town! And if I ever hear Funky Town outside of CP... I'm brought right back onto the midways in my mind. I just can't help it, I assoicate the song with CP so much now that I can't seperate the two!

I agree. Working part-time at Sears Hardware, we get the same music over and over again, but it's enjoyable to our customers! ;)

What about the area between Coasters and sky ride where the midway music is out of phase... :)

------------------
Eddy the retard is awesome.

It's not out of phase.. It's a delay issue due to the vast amount of open space. It's been looked into but cost wise, not really a priority.

Hey, Greg I didn't know you were on this board. Sorry, I had to bring it up, after all I won't be around Monster/WW all the time this summer. :)

*evil grin* *sinister laugh* *looks at Rob*

Sorry, I had to.

Now Rob, lets be serious for one moment. What would be the cost of turning off the delays on the Laser show system during the day when they are played at the lower "BGM" level? The only cost there would be installing the delay from the Laser show tape to the park system so that during the show the sound would sync.

Just dreaming.

I knew you douldn't resist this topic...

You know the answer to this.. :)

*edit* also consider this. We're not even running THROUGH the delay units right now and there's a time problem.. so HA!!!

Personally I love having music on rides and on the midways (although some midway music got on my nerves i.e. Frontier Town and especially Camp Snoopy)

Who was that masked man anyways?, I don't know but he sure had a stupid looking horse.

2000-2002: Camp Snoopy

2003: Mean Streak

2004: TBA
