Does this mean they are going to remove the peacefulness of the ride like on paddle boat excursion when you have to listen to them dumb jokes the whole time instead of being able to enjoy the peacefulness of the ride?
Are you saying you don't like Paddlewheel Excursions spiel?
The jokes make me laugh every time. Even though I know them all. It's classic fun. :)

No I hate them, I mean it might not bother me if I just rode once, but liking boat rides I would ride that ride many times but I get sick of hearing the jokes, that I've heard a bunch of times, it's the type of ride like the sky ride that could be a nice relaxing peaceful ride, but I get tired of the spiel.

weird.
I rode the train at Kings Island on Sunday and it had this feature. I could not tell if it was new or not, but it appeared to be. The music was terrible... there was a country-like cover of "I Want You to Want Me", "Cotton Eyed Joe", and then randomly "Land Down Under." On top of that, the train attendant who rode along up near the front, spieled once when we passed one of the few scenes along the way. There's no doubt in my mind that Cedar Point will probably have better music and put more effort into it. Despite the music being kind of strange at Kings Island, it was somewhat fun to laugh along with. I always thought CP&LE RR could use some music and spiels; I'm excited.
^^ Weird indeed. Don't give anyone any ideas, please. The jokes are what make Paddlewheel... Paddlewheel. If you want a relaxing boat ride, rent a sailboat.

You have -got- to be kidding me...why ruin one of the few peaceful rides left? (IMHO) If this is true, I will be furious.
A recorded spiel at boarding, I can see--sometimes it was difficult to understand the safety spiel last season. "Welcome aboard the Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad, ladies and gentlemen. Your next station stop is Frontiertown, where you may leave the train to enjoy the excitement of the Old West..." sometimes became "Welcome aboard mush mush mush..."
Come on, C.P. It doesn't have to be loud everywhere, all the time. Are they going to be talking or playing music through the sounds of Boneville, too? Or has that been removed? Wouldn't surprise me.
Hmmph... (sorry--bad morning).
The only thing I will say is that if they have no intention of maintaining the sound system then just forget about putting it in.

Gee, I thought what made paddle wheel excursion was the lagoon and the boat, but then again as many of you have pointed out, I am weird, if the jokes are what make it why not just stay ashore and have the navigator tell stupid jokes there
Because then you aren't sailing past the various scenes?
They tried to make it a bit more like Disney's Jungle Cruise, but without the good writing. Its not a bad ride though, and as long as I've known it, its had the bad jokes (and its not like it is something new).

Ok...I was a Jungle Cruise skipper and the jokes on that ride are no better than the jokes on the Paddlewheel. What HAS happened to Paddlewheel is that the park has encroached on it so much that it is hard to avoid talking about the coasters and so forth. I mean, one minute you are passing a family shoot out (Hatfield and McCoy style) and 15 seconds later you are going past Mantis before turning the corner and seeing a 400' Dragster.
It is like a woman trying to wear pieces of outfits from several different decades. You can try to tie it all together but it just ain't gonna work.
Edit: "swine coolers"...nice drop in there! You know, I use to work at an Orange Juice factory but I got canned. Yep, they said I couldn't concentrate. So, they squeezed me out. I really thought I had a-peel. But, I had the last laugh. I beat my boss to a pulp on the way out.

Hey, to each their own. "Cotton Eyed Joe" is a great song!
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I first heard "Cotton-Eyed Joe" at Cedar Point during one of the laser light shows they had by the Iron Dragon. It's catchy and a great tune!

Did "Land Down Under" start playing as you approached Boomerang Bay? Cause that at least makes a little sense, being Australian and all that.

I was thinking that as well, but it was a minute or two after we passed Boomerang Bay. However, I think there was probably a timing error. It was entertaining though.
