Well, it was evacuated, and sitting at the bottom of the lift all afternoon, so I suppose it is possible, but likely not probable.
I think they might have had some kind of lift problem with Iron Dragon too. When I left Millennium Force at about midnight, they had a crane backed into the lift.

If it was the chain dog then the train most likely turned into the lift and it didn't catch the train so it just stopped there.
Derailing is a much more serious thing, but that's a very hard thing for a coaster to do.

It was stopped further up than if it had just rolled to the lift. It looked like it had made it a little ways up and then stopped (/chaindog broke).

No, it's always done that a little bit. That's just the train slowing down, then catching onto the chain, then being pulled up to speed.

When I went to the park on 7-18, I thought that MS was running smoother than I had remembered it running in 2000. The one thing that I especially noticed was the lack of the squeak that the ride used to make on all of the turns.

It’s happened to me a few times when I’ve sat towards the front of the train (what ever car the dog is on up there) and for whatever reason the cars load wheels weren’t ridding on the track. I’m guessing the dog didn’t grab the chain right and the car was propped up off the load wheel. It then settled and slammed back down pretty hard.

That little jump and slam happens every once in a while on every PTC coaster. I think sometimes the chain dog tries to engage right between links, and then you feel it go over the top down to the next link.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Every time I ride MS I usually feel the main tractor wheels leave the track twice. It's usually once at the bottom (attributed to what Pete said), and then about halfway up the lift after you go under the turn. I've had the train "skip" as many as five times up the lift. It seems to be a normal occurence and nothing to worry about, though sometimes the "skips" can be a bit startling.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
It was the green train.

Standard configuration for a PTC train puts two anti-rollback dogs on each car, and a chain clutch on each car EXCEPT the lead car. The two anti-rollbacks and the chain clutch are all mounted on the same cast bracket and all share a common axle. The bracket is usually mounted at the rear of the car.
I don't know whether Mean Streak follows that pattern or not.
