I'm really looking forward to some night shooting this season with my Sony Alpha that I just got. That's one thing that I really couldn't do with my last camera, a point-and-shoot.
So with that in mind, we all know Raptor is one of the most photographed coasters at night, but for those of you that have a DSLR or film SLR, what's one of your favorite spots in the park at night (other than Raptor)?

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
My favorite coaster I love taking pictures of is Millennium Force.
I still have the link to my webshots gallery if anyone wants to see my pictures. I have 22 pictures of Millennium Force and 19 of Top Thrill Dragster. I appologize about the resolution size it's 800 x 600. So for those of you who have a bigger screen, you'll only be able to view these pictures. Enjoy anyway though :)

Well try just typing in the webshots website and then when you do a search put my screen name in as Thriller119.
This coming season I plan to better myself now that I have digital camera again to get Maverick Pictures, Gemini, and other rides that I haven't taken yet. Stay Tuned sometime this spring or summer I'll have another Full Album. :)
Let's see, Magnum at night with the lift hill lights running, MF pretty much any time of day, Iron Dragon (before they painted it) cutting through the fog above the lagoon. Mean Streak might give a crappy ride sometimes, but it's a good-looking coaster. An on-ride pic I wish I had; the first time I rode TTD it was foggy, and when we crested the hill we broke through the fog and it was all blue skies and sun, and you couldn't see the ground, just the top of the clouds and the top 15 feet or so of track, it was freakin awesome. Power Tower and Corkscrew combine to make a funny adult themed picture if you get the angle right, but I'll let you guys figure that one out for yourselves.
Edited to remove any mention of on-ride photography so you three don't have to cry yourselves to sleep tonight. Good snag, further edited to get rid of the rest of the story, and to include Jugga in the list of people who need some no-tears shampoo.
Awesome. A jackass who cares more about getting a friggin picture than he does about his camera bashing someone's face in.
Brandon
Or, maybe he's a jackass who can't comprehend the reasoning behind a loose article policy on a ride that travels at speeds in excess of 90mph.
Brandon
It's still considered a loose article... and that doesn't change the fact that on-ride photography is still prohibited.

You can't do that anymore, remember, DJ? :)

So, now he deletes the reference to his friend taking photos on MF, but leaves the rest of the story in (the guy holding his head). Doesn't eliminate the fact that the camera must be secured in a closeable pocket or fanny-pack.

And I wasn't simply parroting the policy for no reason - and really, I don't care about the enforcement of the rules for the most part. For example, I wouldn't call anyone to task for such an incident on ID.
But last season, I was hit by an empty water bottle on MF on the island. Had I not actually seen the bottle, I would have sworn I was hit with a broom across the face. I can only imagine what a camera would feel like at that speed.
Brandon
Understood, and it's that kind of carelessness that causes policy to be created where common sense should reign in, which is why I got defensive. I hope we haven't killed this thread.
Oh, and also, Snake River Falls makes for some great pics as well if you can time it well.
Besides the danger of on ride POV photos, I have never understood trying to take them. When I'm on a coaster, I don't want to spend my time trying to get a decent picture. I'd rather be enjoying the ride. There are too many other places in the park to get good pictures.

You mean like the one I have that you and Bryan like to pick on me about?:)
And I know what you mean DJ, last year I was struck on the head by a cell phone on Magnum. The only thing that confused me was that it didn't belong to the people in the car in front of me but rather some kids behind me.

I've come to realize that YouTube is far from helping with this ordeal.

Youre not kidding! I cant believe the amount of onride videos....it's disgusting.

These two pictures I took back in 2006, I must like taking pictures on an angle or something..
