More questions....

Hi again!

And many thanks for your replies to my previous
questions....

Who can I contact in CP regarding getting employed. Mailing worldjobs@CP is not getting results.

They told me that the only way getting employed for the 1st time is going to a fair....
Well the nearest for me is in Poland, about 800-1000 miles away....
Anyone got any experiences how the previous foreigners got their jobs?

thanx

Actually, have you tried 1-800-668-JOBS? Everyone here actually told me to do the same because I too am trying to get hired there this summer. If not, perhaps someone else knows someone in the jobs department!
I was hired for the first time back in early January and I did not attend a job fair. I simply put in an application and then called the 1-800-668-JOBS about 7-10 days later. I was given a phone interview and then was told I got the job. This might be the easiest for you so you don't have to make the trip to Poland!

Good Luck!

We will be hiring international students for Season 2001 on the European
Roadshow sponsored by Council Exchanges. Please visit the Council website
(http:\\www.councilexchanges.org) for additional information about the
recruiting tour. This will be our only method for hiring first year international students.

Just fill out the on-line application, it electronically gets sent into Human Resources and the hiring departments. Thats your best way of applying, they are really pushing that this year. Or if you would like to talk to someone in person, call 1-800-668-JOBS, I don't know if you have to dial International Codes to get that or not, I've no experience being far outside the states. Once you hear the voice prompt ignore all the voice prompts and just dial ZERO, like as soon as the voice prompt starts, just ignore it, hit the zero; this will connect you with a clerk at Human Resources, if the clerk cannot answer your questions, ask her (its usually a female) who the best person to talk to would be, but you want to get in contact with Human Resources. I strongly recommend filling out the on-line application, it saves everyone alot of time.

I don't think that international employees can fill out the online application, and I also don't think that the 800 number works for them. As far as I am aware, all the international employees had an interview with the people who went on the European Recruiting tour last year. I'm not a pro at the international aspect of the game, but maybe Jenn can shed some light on the subject...she always does!!!

The number is toll free. I have Jenn's email if you really need it.
The 1-800 number doesn't work outside the United States unfortunatly. Also, International applicants are not able to fill out the application online. One of the reasons you may not have been getting a response from the "worldjobs" e-mail address is that the manager that is responsible for that account is currently on a recruiting tour in Europe. The majority of International Employees hired by Cedar Point are hired at the Job Fairs we attend in Europe. These fairs are held by Student Work-exchange programs such as BUNAC and WORK EXHANGE USA. While it is not impossible for an international employee to be hired without coming through one of the work exchange programs, it is very difficult. You would need the appropriate visa and a IA66 form ( I think this is what it is called). Also, if your visa woule requird an Atestation form from Cedar Point that would not be available. International applicants in the US on a Student Visa would require their Univeristy to sponsor their job as "Practical Work Experience" in the Major program of study, or if they can show that a job is needed due to "Hardship". It is very complicated to work at Cedar Point without coming through an exchange organization, so that would be your most likely means of employment with us. Our recruiters are currently in Bratislava and will be heading to France soon, but you may be able to get an application through the Council for Work Exchange and see if it is still possible to get the appropriate visa. So far our tour has been VERY successful. 2200 applicants showed up in Warsaw! and Heather.. are you implying that I am the information line again :)
