1. Ride pride are people who work at the end of the season for a soroity or some kind of organization for money. I hated when they came last year. They act like they own the place and made so much noise during the night because they only have to work for like 4 hours.
2. I don' t think so. I didn't hear of any this summer and plus I live in Ohio and know that the Sandusky doesn't get tornadoes like ever.

Yeah, merchandise gets those people too, but they're called fund raisers. They work about 8 hours for merchandise, depending on how busy we are. And tornados near CP is a rare thing, last time one came near CP was in 1998, and it was more of a water spout.

It's not rare to be put under a Tornado Watch/Warning but as for actual touchdowns near Cedar Point, none. Last year on May 7th the area got hit pretty bad with storms, sirens went off and housing wouldn't let us go outside. People said what we experienced was a tornado, but it wasn't.

Yea, I have to agree with the above posts. Ride Prides / Fundraisers come at the end of the season / during Halloweekends when staffing is very low. Its usually for a college organization / Sorority / Fraternity. For rides, they can do basically anything except controls (check lapbars, and crowd. Crowd is when you make sure everyone who wants to ride the ride is the appropriate height).
I actually remember that in 1998, because I actually went to CP on that day. It was when Power Tower was new.

Ride prides were SO annoying at Mantis because the only position they could do was crowd (they weren't allowed to check seats). The only time you got to sit down was in controls and that was maybe for a an hour a day. :(

it was a pain to train them to work the food wagons and keep an eye out to make sure they werent messing everything up!

We had a tornado warning in 08 when I worked there. They're rare, but they do happen. Everything was pretty orderly as far as heading to shelter.
Ride prides are prevalent at the start of the season as well as the end of it. They're hit and miss, some groups are really good and others just don't care. For all the complaining I hear about them (and I know many complaints are legit) they're usually a lot more outgoing/friendly than the regular employees by the time Halloweekends rolls around.
