Just got done watching the first parade in Cedar Point's history (sitting here in Doughnut Time) and I must say I was impressed. At first when I heard they were going to add a parade this year, I was a little bit skeptical, but it wasn't too bad. It is very short, about 10 mins long in any one spot, but yet satisfying.
Starts up by the Demon Drop and the ice cream place then continues back towards TTD finally ending by the Gemini restrooms.
They had some floats, a couple mechanical things, lots of people dressed up in halloween attire, and a quite catchy song. "The monster midway invasion celebration", wish I could remember the rest of the lyrics.
There was also quite a good crowd that gathered to watch it. Looked like TTD and corkscrew both shut down while the parade passed by, Skyride did not, and I didn't notice if any others did.
Not quite up to a disney parade but none the less a really good start. Talking to one of the employees (not sure if its true) but he said that if this went well over Halloweekends, there would be a parade everyday next year, even over the regular season.
Anyone else see it or have anything else to add?

Your best bet is to do a "Save Target As" and just watch it after it's done downloading. It is a 320mb file afterall. If it still won't play, you may need to download the latest version of Quick Time.

I'd have to say that the Cub Cadets were the highlight of the parade.;)
I want a set of those springs they were wearing!
Thanks for the vid Jason.

Ride on, MrScott!
Actually, the Cub Cadets are there in case one of the floats decides to stop moving... and yes, this did actually happen today, and one of them had to be pulled the rest of the way.
Corkscrew does close during the parade, but I don't believe TTD is supposed to be affected.
Otherwise, I was very much surprised. It wasn't anything like what I was expecting... And anyone who knows quite a few members of management will be pleasantly surprised... and I'll leave it at that... :) The theme song is relatively catchy too.
I've got some pictures I'll try to post pretty soon.

Yes is was Mr H. Plus Tony was driving the Hearse. About a minute before the parade started, a high school marching band went by. My guess is that they were there to catch everyones attention and let them know the parade was coming.

Wow. I have to say I was quite impressed with that for CP's first parade. Some of the floats were really cool and they had some great characters too. I even liked the music. That would be really sweet if they could do a parade on a regular basis. It takes a LOT of people to run a parade like that daily though.
I'd like to see them space out the floats and characters a little more so they could interact with the crowd some. It'd also be cool if they were able to eliminate the "float guiders".
Overall though, call me impressed. Hopefully I'll be able to check that out in person sometime. Thanks for the video, Jason!
