Monsoon Mania, 9/13/01

Today I sat in the train once and got out for weather and I was in 8 setups, one even with a 2 train! That's how empty and slow the train were near the end. I also broke yellow's rollbacks once, they were grinding almost the whole way up. Every train also has this cool machine gun sound effect at the top too!

Laps 1-30 I encountered on and off rain but nothing too bad. Things ran real slow to start but after a while MF was warmed up and ran fairly well. Just half hour into the event the special access gate was opened, so much quicker laps.

30-60 There was a  continuous rain and sometimes it was the driving horizontal variety. I pretty much rode with my hooded sweatshirt totally enclosing my head. So while my rides were unpainful it made me somewhat nauseous near the end. Even with the trains half empty MF ran decent at some times, while very slow at others.

I can't write anymore, my fingers are too numb.

I got 64 on Millennium. That rain really hurt! I totaled 12 setups today, at least the ones I saw, and I was on like 9 or 10 of them.

Joe made the roll backs engage at ramdom times on the yellow train. Lucky, the ride didn't break down!:) Very interesting day!

BTW Joe, where did you go when you said you took a break?

My first MM trip. Even with the rain it was a blast! Glad I called in to work today. One problem I had was my riding partner was a sissy. Only 10 laps on MF! He couldn't hang with the non-stop riding that I have longed to be able to have. Oh well, there's always next year unless the GP finds out and it turns into MC.

My hand hurts...

Always remember to keep hands inside the Millenium Force trains at all time, especially around that so-called pole area, that seems to jump out and give people hand shakes.

Reset Mania was awesome, I just loved how the MF trains stopped and rolled back a little at the top of the hills.

They need to do that more often.

If you rode with me later.. you'd notice that not a ONCE did my hands go outside the car on that turn anymore.. hehehe

Yeah, my first MM, my body just wasn't happy about riding Raptor over and over and over and over and over and..... Those who were there know. :)  Anyways, I had a blast!  Jo, congrats, and thanks for letting me borrow your riding partner!

Hey Coast, great meeting you too.  It was a dream come true re-riding The Force so many times.  I was so cold I could hardly get my fingers to work trying to unfasten my belt.  That was a very memorable day/night for me, and I can't wait for more Halloweekends

   On a parting note, the first time I rode the red train that day was also my first stop/rollback, and I was VERY scared for five or so seconds.....awesome.....
