I ended up camping with a friend and his family over there a few days, but went in the park the 18th. Started ERT on Maverick, and I already knew it was a busy day seeing the line at the resort gate (and the fact that it was a Monday). So we walked to Maverick, and had about a 15 minute wait. After that, we went to Millennium Force because from what I was used to, there was never a long line for that during ERT. Well I was wrong, and we ended up waiting about 40 minutes. But after that we ended up riding Mantis, Power Tower, and Magnum by 11:30am.
I'm not going to list everything else we rode, but I do have to say that Mean Streak is actually a fun ride, I don't know why everyone hates it so much ;) Demon Drop was a walk on as usual. The park was only busy the first half of the day though, I think people were getting too hot, I was anyway. And then of course they were announcing all day the closing at 10pm. Employees were definitely not happy with that.
After 8pm, most people started leaving, and by 9 lines were short for everything. But I think it had to do with it starting to rain sometime after 9, it only lasted about 10 or 15 minutes though. TTD was down for a short time and ended up opening again around 9:40pm. We got in line for that and had a 15 minute wait.
Not a bad day in the park, overall not too crowded but definitely not a slow day either. I noticed going through the resort gate they didn't check for early entry again. If I was their TL that would not get by me! I also was talking to someone and learned their new system briefly and its definitely better than last year.. as if they already had nothing to do, now they literally don't have to do anything. Ah well. Oh and something interesting I noticed from working last summer, is that August 19th and 20th (2007) were the 2 least busiest days of the season, well from what I remember.
