MM 9/14 -- a BIT of a letdown actually...

Did some people forget to take their PROZAC???
Myself or my family didnt go to millenium mania. But being a seasons pass holders the last 15 years, what cedar point did to my family last year was similar to the same thing they pulled on greg. My family and i live in the sandusky area, and their are prominent sandusky families along with my family that go to the various shows, but in particular we go to the red garter and catch the country show. Last labor day of 2000 my family and i arrived at the last show of the season  which was at 5:00. We sat in the second row end table.  Then the following week the halloweekends country show started. We sat with a group of people from sandusky. Marge the head of Live "E" started repeatedly kept making announcements telling people that they can only sit in the front tables for 1 show a day. We were sitting at the second group of tables that day. Well low and behold the following Wednesday my family along with other families that live in sandusky got lettors from cedar point blaming us for sitting in the front rows. Not heeding their warnings. That we are only allowed to sit in the front row one time a day. Specifically mentioning labor day too. We were falsely accused of sitting in the front rows. When in fact the performers parents and relatives occupied the front table the whole afternoon we were told. The point is number 1 ...I pay good money for my seasons pass. I used to spend alot of money in the park. I spent over 3000 dollars a season in the park. Just on  food. Not anymore. I learned a cruel lesson. Number 2, like my son said dad if they can do this to us their will come a day when they tell coaster riders you already rode the ride you cant ride it anymore...number 3...why pick on the people that live close to the park.....everyone that got Marges nasty lettors lived in sandusky. We have other friends that live in fremont, cleveland, even canada.....they were at the show with us. They didnt get any lettors. My theory is if your gonna send lettors send them to everyone. Don't just send them out to a few. In the past years like last summer even though i didnt ride we went 132 times. This summer...8 times.....I have a foul taste in my mouth...and frankly after the lettor.....even though i dont like 6 flags parks.....Unfortunately thats who will get our entertainment money......The coaster family
Unfortunately, the access gate couldn't have been open on Friday, like it was on Thursday.  The line was long enough that opening the access gate would have resulted in line jumping.  The re-rides didn't upset me as much as the fact that Mr. Wozniak said that the event is advertised as "NO waiting in line" and then we get to MF and there are rows roped off to CREATE a line.  That was just wrong.

I think most people have enough common sense to write a responsible letter.  I also sent Cedar Point a note. While it touched lightly on the fact that re-rides were halted mid-day, it was more to let them know how rudely we were treated by Mr. Wozniak and a MF ride-op when asked why there were rows roped off.  I also pointed out in my letter that the Manits crew, yes that's right, the Mantis crew, did a great job and gave kudos to Clint on Power Tower and to Cedar Point for showing support to our country  with a moment of silence at 7pm.

As Tim said, I'm sure it was an isloated instance of Sixflagitis.

OTT, How are my facts wrong? How are my post annoying? Before I post ANYTHING I make sure I can back it up with the facts. Please show me a post I made that my facts were wrong and were I was annoying. Maybe its just because I may be the youngest so some people may think I just make things up and are like the "bad teenagers", but I do research anything and everything before I post it to make sure it is the true facts. I don't consider myself a expert, I admit that I don't know everything about Cedar Point or roller coasters, but talk to anyone who was with me at the park while I was researching my book and website and they would tell you that I try my hardest to get the facts and I would never make up or post/publish false facts.

I NEVER said Greg couldn't write a business letter... read my post and you would have saw that I thought Greg's letter was great. I just didn't want some moron to write a piss poor letter to the park and ruin future events(or the way events are run in the future).

What the hell...is this pick on Andrew day or what? Whenever I read his posts, I never feel like he's being a smart*****or annoying.

Am I missing something here?

Andrew is/was writing a book on the unofficial guide to Cedar Point or something like that...

If he's writing a book, I sure hope he starts putting his commas before closing quotes.

James, A few of the people I have met in the park so they do know my age(if not my exact age around my age).

Dan, When I wrote my rough draft of my book and gave it to my publsher they paid me adanvace(about 500 bucks) to help me write the book(the advance money will be money from the profits of my book I get in advance). I wasn't getting paid from the park, but I was getting paid from publisher to go to the park and write. Its just like how magazine people do it... there company pays them to go to the park and write.

Jeff, I edited my book, then had several of my friends edit my book. Then when my book got to the publisher there in-house staff edited it for grammer and spelling errors. And so what I miss a comma in one of my post, aren't we all human?

CP_bound, I am gald you don't think my post are annoying. I am just as confused as you.

The only reason I come to this site is to keep up with current news and happening at Cedar Point.  I don't post here because it seems a large portion of people here have this attitude that their you know what don't stink and they know it all about Cedar Point.  Whenever someone ask a legitimate question about crowds and the like everyone jumps on them with smart*****remarks.  I swear, some people need to grow up on this site.  Are you jealous Jeff that Andrew is getting paid to write a book about Cedar Point?  I assume Andrew is fairly young, is this how you treat all teenagers?  You are also being a major hypocrite saying that this is a monitored site to reduce the noise.  Well, you and your monitor buddies seem to be creating quite a bit of noise directed at Andrew without cause.  Maybe you should close this topic before you and your monitor buddies make a bigger fool of yourself.

First off, my crap smells pretty bad. Ask my wife.

Second, I'm not jealous of anyone. Life is far too short for that. (That said, I don't believe anyone pays a 14-year old to write a book, especially if they looked at his writing sample first.) I love teens, that's why I coach. My girls are like my own kids and I'd sooner spend time with them than ride any coaster.

Third, I'm tired of this kid plugging his alleged book on my site. I'm tired of his continued notion that he knows what the park is doing at all times, how they should run things. I'm tired of him ripping off my trademarks (yes, it's happened before, I talked to his dad).

It's not about what people do or don't know, it's how they say it. Even then, the people who know the most talk about it the least. So when someone comes on and thinks they're a genius because they can predict it'll be crowded on a weekend in July (who could imagine?), I get fairly annoyed.

Have a nice day.

I sure wish the people who do know would talk a little more.  I come to this site to hear from those who do know.

Detroit Publishing INC. Then it is printed for major bookstores through INGRAM.

Jeff, you don't know my writing style so how in the world can you say "I don't think anyone pays a 14 year old". I sent them(and to 50 other publishers but they didn't accept it) a rough draft and I signed a contract which allows be to get a advance in turn for the rights of my book.

This is the ONLY time I put in my 2 cents about how the park is run. I do not know everything which is happening, at the park but I do read "Behind The Lines", go to the park weekly, talk to several employees, and I have many good friends in roller coaster clubs who I talk to a lot. What is wrong with me saying how crowded I think the park is/was? At least I don't get all smart and "ask the magic eight ball". By the way, most of my predictions have been very close to being right.

And I never took your trademark(yes it was close to yours and I took care of it very soon, we already discussed this and took care of it so why do you have to bring it back up? And that only happened ONCE, you make it sound like I did it many times).

Yes I put my book in my signature but I don't "plug" it. Yes I talked about it in one thread(when many people asked about it), but several other Cedar Point books were "plugged". So just because one person with a Cedar Point book is on your site they can't say they have a book, but other people can plug other books? Its not like I am trying to make money off my book, it costs a lot of money to print press releases(media kits), get copies of my book for reviewers, get posters made, postal to send copies to media sources, to hire a editor, to have someone make me a cover, etc.

You know Jeff, these guys are right. You do treat anyone who's not a moderator on this site the same way. You write off everyone's opinions and all of the information they come across as "garbage" or "crap." I've been treated that way in the past, just so you know I'm not just making it up.

You always say "don't feed the trolls," yet that's all you're doing in this thread! So Andrew's writing a book and you're not... let's get defensive over it. Too bad the internet isn't a very friendly place for Cedar Point fans...

Also, Jeff, did you happen to think that maybe, just maybe Andrew's crowd calander is just a reference for folks who don't know the park very well?

Jeff, that's all I really got out of his inital post, I didn't sense any hostility.

You're almost always pretty rational about things, but it seems as if you jumped on him for no reason. Seems to me it's just a matter of mis-interpretation.

Remember kids, don't be...errr....feed the trolls.

Jeff, can I also point out a post you made just after flaming me in an e-mail:
http://www.guidetothepoint.com/thepoint/cpplace/thread.asp?ForumID=1&TopicID=4887

I voiced concerns about the boards in that e-mail,  and then just about 10 minutes later you mentioned in your signature that you had "thrown a few back this evening and feeling above average." Is that the kind of responsibility you promote on YOUR site (because I'm constantly reminded that it's YOURS and that we shouldn't "come into your house and piss on the floor")? Yelling at your members while "feelling above average?" That's some good leadership if I've ever seen it!

Hey Jeff just wanted to let you know that i think Andrews posts are very imformative to us people who do not get to CP that much or have never been there before... and he is one of the handfull of members i would like to meet the next time i am at CP and thank them for all there help ... So now it's come down on Jeffy time, eh? That's nice. Thanks, that makes my day.

Squishy: You know very well you had that coming in the thread you refer to. Just as it says, remarkable as it sounds, most of us have far better things to do than sit around and monitor a site all day. There is no conspiracy. If recent events haven't convinced you of that then it's time to turn off the box and step outside.

I don't treat anyone like crap (except for Andrew, because he irritates me). Some people don't seem to understand that a difference in opinion is hardly something to take personal. And with regards to that, spreading rumors about the gigainvertedstandupwoodie isn't an opinion (aimed at no one in particular) is just silly nonsense and something that I don't need here. A complete lack of common sense (will it be crowded this weekend?) is another thing I don't need. If you want that kind of thing, visit one of hundreds of other forums because I'm not having it here. You have a choice to visit this site. No one is forcing you.

It's funny how easy it is for some of you to sit behind your computers and judge my moral character. Most of you will never know the love, compassion and intense commitment to my friends, family and kids that are a part of my everyday life.
