"Mini" GTTP Christmas Dinner 12-15

12-15 was the annual GOCC Christmas party, and due to it being held in Columbus (instead of "up North" somewhere) I knew I would be going for sure. My b/f was supposed to go with me but had to haul a couple of horses instead (yes with MY truck) so he was "kind" enough to let me use his "work" car. Without me going into "specific" details about the "cleaniness" of this car, let me sum it up with one word, BLECH! :(
Arrived at the party and eventually our table was a "mini GTTP" table. I teamed up with Matt (Sky Kicker, not to be mistaken with Kicks the Sky)
Tony, (Tony-duh! ;)) Jeff, (UCISEPHJGITFJG ;)
and his lovely g/f, Lauren. We saw and heard the presentation from SFWOA, then the people who originated the "coaster trading cards", then time to eat. Lauren and I got our chicken pretty quickly, we then figured they had to be in the back killing the cow since Matt and Tony's dinners took FOREVER, as did Jeff's chicken too.
We then watched a "guess which country this coaster is in" trivia thing, everyone at our table got at least 3 of the 17 right, of course picking the table that 90% blocked the screen did not help us either. (hint-if you ever find yourself doing this type trivia game-use England as every answer-you're guaranteed to get at least 5 answers right!) We all still had our dinner plates on the table and I came up with idea of making "Christmas balls" and putting them on this one Christmas tree that was close to us, instead we "created" a mashed potatoe snowman, this was only after Tony wanted no part of starting a food fight. I will admit having SOME part of the creation of the bottom of this snow/potatoe man, but Jeff and Lauren definitely deserve the rest of the credit for the "final" touches on this thing. Stingbean arms, carrot nose, carrot (?) eyes and later even adding a red bell pepper hat. We proudly displayed the creation on our table to share with everyone, and even took a group photo with it.

CPs turn for their presentation. Bryan brought some VERY funny video clips to share with us, I will NEVER look at Monica Lewinsky the same again (dont ask-you just had to be there) We got to see some old CP commercials (even making the comment "look-its Mr Skyward!" :)) We were told about Wicked Twister (nothing we here all dont know) and I for one was hoping Bryan would sneak in some video of his recent wedding to Angie, but no go. He then told us about the CP door prizes
and he had brought a HUGE bag of Raptor :) :)
buttons stating "1 button for everyone". I made it my job the rest of the evening to be sure everyone took only ONE button. (Bryan calling me the "button natzi") We then watched another slide presentation of some other coasters in another country. Then door prize time. Tony's name was called 1st, when Lauren's name was pulled, she pulled my name and I pulled Jeff's name, which I thought was TOO funny! :) I opted for the coaster cards, Tony got free tiks to a park in VA (which park I cant remember!) Lauren got a Deja Vu shirt and Jeff picked a Medusa poster. My full intent was to get a Medusa poster next trip up-there were scraps by that time! No Medusa poster for me! :(
There was this (poor) guy there was looked like a "cleaned up" Mr Skyward-no lie! Once I po!nted him out everyone agreed, and I am so sure he has no clue why I took some pics of him. He later came to our table to comment on our snowman and we decided since we had a full and understandable conversation with him-that couldnt have been Mr Skyward.
All in all I had a blast (home in 20 minutes-woo hoo!) it was awesome hanging with my CP/GTTP buds, sharing stories and talking about some of the 2001 adventures. They all agreed that Hooper and I are CRAZY, (Matt and Tony joined us for a CM lap on MF) and of course we had to discuss Jeff's little Raptor "incident" during MM.
I also came to the conclusion that the next meeting someone will decide to separate us-we just had TOO much fun!!

I can't thank you guys enough, I had a blast at the party and hope we have an off season GTTP get togther soon.  I must say I thought we all were going to get kicked out after the potato snowman was created.  I guess the off season is getting to us already! 

All in all it was a great time and video of Monica just ruled!!! Special thanks to Bryan for sharing that with us what a hoot!  I also was waiting for the second round of door prizes to get a Medusa poster but as Jo said, NO POSTER FOR YOU!  Oh well no big deal.  Jo, Jeff, Lauren and of course Tony what a great time it was and I look forward to more good times ahead.

Greece!  It's Greece!! :)  Yes, the snow/potato man was great.  It was pieces of beef for the eyes, and red cake frosting for the hat. :)  The best line of the night, "good, because that would really embarass my parents." :)  Yes, it was a great time, and it was very nice to get home in 15 minutes.  Now I just need to get my 3 posters to work and hang them on my walls. :)

Well I think if we would have had A food fight, like Jo wanted to, we would have been kicked out and you never know we might not be invited back again next year anyway. The trip to Columbus was worth it and I was glad to see Jo and meet Jeff and Lauren and of course my coaster side kick Matt. The potato snowman and the Mr. Skyward look A like were each something to see. Thanks Bryan for bringing the video with Monica. That was priceless! Hope to see everyone again soon and look forward to having more great times together.

In my defense Tony, I wasn't serious about a food fight, however I was serious about the Christmas balls for our (screen blocking) Christmas tree!! :) And I think I remember now, your tiks were for PKD weren't they?
My personal feelings about the Medusa poster were since I do believe I was the ONLY one at our table that has actually ridden Medusa (twice!) I think I should have had dibs on the poster-we all know WHO got the last poster even though I dont recall his name being called-anyone else? ;) (JB)

And I ended up with 2 (TWO!!) Raptor buttons btw since Lauren was kind enough to give me hers.
So there!! NO Ebay for me!! :) Now I have 4.

I still think I should have invited the whole GOCC group to my house after, it would have been too fun! Maybe next year!

I too can't wait for our 2nd annual GTTP Winter get together! Since I wore my "Cedar Point" necklace for the GOCC dinner, I'll be sure to wear my "Raptor" necklace for the GTTP get together!

I did not think that you wanted A food fight to abrupt, but you did mention it. We could have started one during the last presentation, that guy was boring! The way I see it is no harm no foul.

I think that going to your house after the party would have been fun, but do to the time you said that you had to get up for work I can see why you did not invite us over. Maybe next time.

Sleep? Who needs sleep? If I had the chance to be sure the house was clean and I had stuff to serve coming to my house would have been no prob! Maybe we will have to plan on it next year-that would be too fun! :)
