Millie Seat Belts

Been looking and still haven't seen anything about Millie's seat belts. I though they were going to put on new ones since the old ones slowed down the dispatches.

Any report on the new belts or if they are new?

It opened for a half hour, maybe an hour on Saturday.

Was hoping to get my first ride of the year on MF today and check out the new seatbelts but it’s been down all day. They are testing but it is still surprisingly slow over both hills to and from Millenium island.

The #PaintGate crowd is buzzing. Time to do some quality inspections on the paint thickness they put on those rails.

They have been running all 3 trains for a while now without any water dummies and it appears to be clearing the island faster now. Just chilling at the Farmhouse drink stand till they get this figured out!

The seat belts are indeed new, they are shiny and clean. They also still buckle on the outside, look, operate and are as big of a pain for ride ops as the old ones. But they are, new and clean.

I'm sure he does. Boy I miss those days.

I've had a look at the webcams a few times since the season started and you really have to be patient if you want to see a coaster train rolling on any given track. And Magnum always seems to have one train parked on the transfer tracks and still manages to stack. It doesn't have me running to the door to get to the park and ride.

Was actually wondering if the new seatbelts were longer. The way the lap bar is made to fit it's kind of hard to place the buckle somewhere else.

The lines weren’t bad yesterday evening. And milly got open around 6 but she looked like she was having some struggle over those island hills during testing.

It doesn't seem to me like the seat belts are longer this season, I still have about the same amount of extra or it least I think I do - never measured it. It could just be me but I also think watching the trains seem a lot slower, especially on the hills to and fro millenium island. That being said I only have 1 ride on MF so far this season and riding it in person felt normal to me, except you do get pulled up that first hill faster. Which is kind of a bummer, I love that view.

the thing about millie is that it needs that speed. without it it just loses it's... magic.

It's been a typical mild May temperature wise and it sounds like it's been running very sporadically with long shutdowns. After every shutdown it will cool off and take a while to get back up to full speed, so slowness would be expected. If it's still slow on a hot August night with calm winds then I'd be concerned.

Does anyone have a picture or can report if the new seatbelts are setup any different than the previous or just new? The best I can surmise from those Facebook groups is the new belt might now anchored closer to the seat post rather than near the floor of the train, but only 1/1000 comments there have any real substance or relevancy to make sense of it.

The routing over/under the post has always been a challenge and every train a few people route it over the post instead of under which causes a slight delay to re-buckle, so hoping they at least solved for that.
