Millie Island Construction

2 separate rides and 2 different rides, in vehicals and course.
I think that's the big kicker...because they changed the boats as well when it went from being Western Cruise to PWE. Only this time I don't think they are changing the boats at all.

The original boats were on Paddlewheel Excursions for several years after the move.

I think Old Timer Tim needs to share his opinion on 'one ride or two.'

The more I think about my idea of moving Frontier Village over to the Island, the more I like it.

If they could put bridges across to the island on four sides (near ID, near SRF, near #16, and near Camp Snoopy) it would significantly help the flow of guests in the back of the park. It would give that "hub" feel that you get at the Magic Kingdom.

Walking all the way around through the Trail or down the Corkscrew midway is quite a hike. Parents with kids heading to Camp Snoopy might appreciate the shortcut.

The Island could be the "calm" center of what has become organized chaos. It would be the Central Park of Cedar Point.

Yes, I like this idea very much.

I like your idea Chief. It would be nice to cut off some walking time!

When you say "Frontier Village" do you mean Frontier Trail, or Frontier Town? I doubt they'll move the Frontier Trail shops. The appeal of that whole section is the fact that it's a wooded trail, and still somewhat quieter than the rest of the park. The lsland wouldn't be, with the Millennium Force streaking by, and also being surrounded by the other coasters, and less trees. I think they will eventually let you go across to connect Frontier Trail with Gemini midway. But I'd rather see more rides on it, or a new wood coaster on it... whatever they do I'm sure it'll be awesome.

Even a chairlift from Magnum to F. Trail would be wonderful. Anything to decrease the walk time it takes to get around the back of the park.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
What I was getting at is moving the Craftsmen shops, quaint stores, etc. I don't know if there is enough room on the Island for a woodie. It certainly couldn't exist entirely on the Island.

There are a lot of trees on the Island still. You can't really tell during winter when the leaves are all gone.

Yes, I guess there are a lot of trees on either end of it. From the satellite view, especially the northernmost edge. A good long wood coaster would have to follow the circumfrence, or cross over to the park in a few places. Well they definitely know how to utilize space at CP. There is that old sky-ride from Dorney in the boneyard, looks very jetson-ish....cool spacey-60's looking.

Correct me if i'm wrong but someone told me that there used to be a skyride that went through alot of what is now the gemini midway. And that that is what is in the boneyard.

The "Frontier Lift" used to be between the Iron Dragon queue area, and Coasters Restaraunt, which used to be The Paddle Wheel Cafe'. The other station for it is still up in Frontier Town. They still use the rest rooms underneath it. It used to go over the trees and the island, and the Mine Ride lift hill, to Frontier Town. That Sky-Ride is gone, but there is a different one from Dorney in the Boneyard.

I have often thought they should use the old sky ride from Dorney and connect the Magnum miday with the Frontier Trail or Millennium midway. But it's in really bad shape. If they were going to use it, wouldnt they have kept it undercover or in a building? Also, a great place for a woodie is where the Boneyard is now. Theres plenty of land there and they could cross it over to the island and back. I don't think they should do to much on the island because its one of a few places left with a large amount of tress and there are no tress in the Boneyard, so that would be great place for a good sized woodie.

I agree with you 99er...it doesn't make sense to have that Sky Ride out in the weather
if they were going to use it. It does look really cool though. The boneyard would be cool, it could cross over to the island go through the trees there, race along side the train in places....I wish they'd put more trees back in the Mine Ride like how it used to be.
Would anybody mind telling me where the boneyard is and if there are any pictures of the sky ride form Dorney
Also. . .could you say what 'the boneyard' is? I am not as smart and with it as you. :)

"Uhhh I don't think my restraint is supposed to move like this. . ."

The boneyard is a place where they keep defunct rides. There's one both on point and one off. I haven't been to the one off point but the one on point is underneath the second and third hills of MF. it's inbetween Mantis and snake river. there's alot of ways to get there but it's off limits to the public.

Wow. . . I haven't heard about that. Is it out in the open, or is it like a warehouse? Are the pictures somewhere of it? Thanks for telling me what it is, at least. :)

Its out in the open. If you ride the train you can kind of see it right after you go under SRF, look to your left and there are two woodin gates. If there open you can see right in. If not then the only way of seeing it is on MF. Just as your going over the 2nd hill to the island look down and to the right, there it is. Theres not much in there. The sky ride from Dorney, three WildCat cars, two Demon Drop cabins, alot of benches and steel stuff. Also there is the big Coasters sign from where East of Chicago is now.

I took a trip to the point in october boy it was packed! even the merry go round had a 45 minute wait.--------any way, on the way i noticed a the peices of vertigo in a parking lot in in sandusky right before you take the bridge of sorts to the park. this was still in a suburban area and the building theparking lot was behind was like a motel or something is. why havent they stored vertigo in the boneyard, but in this place?
