I was there on Sunday and it sank. Completely.
I thought that was Magnum? :P At least the ride will be interesting as an underground ride, like a nighttime ride all day long!
Nah, Magnum's just sinking slowly. Millennium just collapsed into a giant sink hole and like Turbo Jaw said, there's nothing but a little blinking light left saying "help me, help me" with each and every blink.

Sadly I could take a nap on MF. If it's broken down I get just as much enjoyment.
How is that for negative? :)

Man, I've been on this site forever and the whole sinking joke is just not funny at all.

It's now a inside joke. Those never get old.

Millenium has been running a ton lately....
"Ton" wouldn't be the word I would choose, nor would I spell millennium that way.
MF, WT, and TTD all have more problems than all the other rides at CP because of the technology they use.
Every other ride uses water pumps, motors, and air compressors (all found almost everywhere and are developed enough to be very reliable and easy to fix).
Now we come to WT's mess of electrical circuits and complexity and that can take days to fix and replace.
TTD has the most problems that can be summed up in word, "COMPLEX". The launch system is the source of the large amounts of down time we saw in previous years. While the launch system works well, if one thing goes wrong, it usually takes a while to fix, everything is pretty much custom made for the ride. Next comes the blocking system. This is the issue that brings on most of the short periods of downtime throughout each day. Basically the ride was designed to move 6 trains very closely together, but it has never been able to do that. They must move each train out of the blocks separately. (See MF for a blocking system that works how TTD's was meant to)
Finally we end up at MF. From what I read and know about MF's cable lift system, it works in a similar manner to TTD's launch motor. So that's where the same problem comes up, if one thing goes wrong, it takes a few days to fix.
Turns out all three of these rides are made by Intamin and it appears to be their problem. I see it as they're using technology in ways that it has never been proven to do (The LIM's on WT don't really apply here). There are no "quick fixes" to these rides. Sadly these are the most popular attractions and many of us have to suffer with the problems.
Before anyone says this: I know hydraulics are a proven technology, but there aren't any systems around the world that use them quite like TTD does. (except the other rocket coasters of course)
While some of my facts might not be right on, I know I'm right when it comes to these rides not being a quick fix and all being more complex than needed.

And according to the website, Millennium Force will not open today (7/5). I hope it's open again by the weekend. :)

Actually, it works very similarly to the millions of elevators in operation around the world. There is no fancy hydraulic system to break. Just a simple (albeit powerful) motor to spin the drum that winds the cable the pulls the catch car and attached train. Sure its a lot more weight than just about every elevator out there but its not new technology by any stretch of the imagination.

^I always remember TTD's system being compared to MF's. Maybe they were talking about the cable setup and catch car.

That's about the only similarity. (sorry if that last post came off bad, I just re-read it and there must be something about early morning on the first day back to work after a 4 day weekend.)
I also don't buy the "They are complex" argument. Sure the systems are complex, but the engineers designing them are highly skilled and well trained (at least thats my assumption). Its not like TTD was designed by grad students as a capstone course.
