Millennium Force at home seat belt test

I have about a 40" waist. Its a little bit of a struggle to get the belt buckled, but I can pull the slack, so I haven't had a problem yet.

Goodbye MrScott

John

Hey, I am 6', 225 lbs, 37" waist and I can pull 2 " of slack. I am by no means a muscle man, LOL.

First trip June 23rd

I can't believe how people can be so rude, and I know that Grady already read this from me on another post, but why are people so rude?. We all go to the Park to have fun, then on here some choose to bash people and I agree with nesdude,if you don't have a weight problem, be thankfull because it is not fun.and you have no idea how hard it is . I know,I was once there and didn't fit on the Dragster when it first opened, let alone the mf..my word of advice is don't give up.. I know I was determined and not only do I fit but I am addicted to them, I love the TTD & MF :) it is worth the 2-1/2 hr drive* This winter just keep the MF in mind, while waiting the six months for the park to open, we can do alot of changes with ourselves,,and have nothing to worry about but having fun! That is now my ultimate goal :)

THE BIGGER THE BETTER THE FASTER THE BEST......... COASTERS OF COURSE

I joined the gym last winter with the motivation to be able to fit on all rides. I wasn't extremely overweight (I was 16, 5'11 210lbs, 35-36 waist) but I joined so I wouldn't become overweight. I had quite a gut and I wanted to be able to ride Millennium Force without any problems.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Does anyone believe that the slack requirement is a bunch of crap?

Why?

If you are big but strong and on the edge of not fitting, once you get the belt attached, then the test is PULLING THE SLACK. Big folks who are strong often can do it; big folks who don't possess the strength often cannot. This is true on MF and TTD. This is not a size or safety issue; it's a matter of arm strength.

Regardless what Intamin or CP says, the slack rule also is invalid because if you fit snugly with no slack, wouldn't you be SAFER than a little person who only pulls the inch or half inch but no no more, in a quest for a looser fit and perhaps whatever air time is available?

Of course, this ongoing conversation -- now a year and a half old -- would be unnecessary if SFNE had taken steps to avert a tragedy in May, 2004.

The larger riders among us are still paying a price for a regrettable situation that had nothing to do with CP, which never would have allowed such a situation to transpire.

But hey, CP, like the rest of us, are just along for the butt-covering ride being provided by Intamin in the wake of that incident.

Sure, losing weight is a solution but not an easy one for many people. In the meantime, a legion of guests at CP -- some of whom could enjoy these rides with little or no trouble before May, 2004 -- have been alienated by this SLACK RULE.

Gotta go hop on the tread mill.

Here's my seatbelt test:

I get on here and check to see if CP has made any modifications(like xcelerator) to MF or TTD. If not, I book a trip to Geauga, PKI, or take a ride to Kennywood. There are a lot of other reasons I've said to hell with CP this year, not just the belts.

Yes, I know, CP has 14 other coasters. But, I used to be able to ride at 6'2" 270, I should still be able to. I'm tired of having to drop weight to go to CP and ride my two favorite rides. If I'm gonna lose weight, I'm gonna do it for myself, not CP.

I would consider having fun on your two favorite coasters "for yourself".
