Millenium Mania

Did anyone attend Millenium Mania?

I went and it was the most rides I ever got at Cedar Point in a single 6 hours.

It was pouring rain all day, went up there that evening drove into the parking lot around 5:30 and the rain disappeared.

The place was empty, the temperature warmed up.

When you were riding the coasters, it was cooler on the ground, but when you got to the top of the rides like Millenium Force and Power Tower, the temperature was something like 15-20 degrees warmer.

They had the gate open on Millenium Force, so when you got off of Millenium Force, you could just walk through back to the loading platform.

You were getting back on the exact same train every time because there was very few people there.

I got more rides that night then I did with my season pass all season, I rode in every seat of the Magnum and Millenium Force.

It stands as one of my fondest memories of any CP “event” ever. And what was it, 20 bucks for five rides? MF was a walk-on all evening long. A friend came from out of town and we had a blast.

Just out of curiosity, when was this? I don’t remember it, and I remember back when Millennium was the biggest ride in the park.

Went to every night of M. M. Best time ever at The Point. Rode Milllie for 2 1/2 hours straight (sometimes not getting off, sometimes just going thru the gate to get back on.) in a driving rain. Bought a Gore-Tex jacket and pants rom Cabela's when I got home.

How was the event spelled?

Some words that have beginnings have no "n." Millennium is spelled as such.

Easily the best park event I have been to. The price was perfect for the amount of riding you were able to do and the crowds (if you can even call it a crowd) were almost non existent.

I do remember that event and was there with a friend. I don't recall the temperature/weather, but I do remember doing about 8 or 10 consecutive rides on Raptor without getting out of the seat. I was pretty much ready for a break at that point. I agree - it definitely was an awesome crowd size and an awesome ticket price!

Proud to have fathered a second generation coaster enthusiast destined to keep me young at heart and riding coasters with a willing partner into my golden years!

The second year, as I recall, Millie was down due to.the lift-cable break and Vertigo was substituted. Got 10 rides on it in it's various configurations. Freaky, but a great, if short-lived, ride! Shame it was torn down.

So... in 2034 I'll still have to be annoyed with Valravyn, Valraven, etc? It's only been two years for that ride...

Just Coasting, the comment was in reference to Millennium being incorrectly spelled, not the name of the event. The rides been open for 18 seasons and people are still leaving off an N.

Could be, but I was born in 1991, so not sure why I don’t remember it. Although when I was growing up, we normally went the end of June for my father’s work so that could be why.

I will have to start paying more attention when I ride the front car of Millennium Force from now on.

Oh darn, that means I should also ride it more often.

Or you can just use spell check when you make these not quite a troll but no real purpose posts.

No, I think I have to ride it more.

Whatever makes you whole

Just as long as I get to ride the "Whole Ride"
