Millenium Force Paint Job

^^A lot, especially a ride the size of Millennium. I'd say somewhere between a poo load and a poo ton....aka, millions. :)

I might have to go on Adventure Island this year. It looks like there will be a couple places to get pictures of Millennium Force that I've never been able to get before. I guess I'll take pictures of the Dinosaurs too. :)

Stupid question time. How often do the trains get painted?

My guess is that the trains get painted when they are taken apart for the seasonal maintenance.

Also, according to the Toledo Blade, "So the good news is the weather was, I'm told, unseasonably warm. Clearly we've been able to get ahead of our maintenance and cosmetics and annual maintenance scheduled," (Ouimet) said. "So the Millennium Force is almost fully painted, the Blue Streak is almost done, the Giant Wheel is almost done."

I like that, "I've been told." I feel very sorry for Mr. Ouimet if 2012-2013 winter is like most winters in Ohio.

Does anyone know what parts of MF still need to be re-painted?

It's still only painted halfway up the lift hill. I think there are other unfinished spots, too.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume they didn't paint the track inside the tunnel.

They still have yet to finish the lift hill, the 122 degree banked turn, and the big airtime hill.

With the warm winter we had, I thought they would have been able to complete the entire ride this year, I guess not!

They didn't. It's quite noticeable when you ride it.

Actually Shawn, All the banked turns are painted. I think the only areas remaining are the lift, and the first airtime hill.

If you look at the track that goes over the tunnel leading to the Frontier Trail (where one track leads to the island and the other is returning from the island) it bothers me that only one of those tracks is painted. It's very visible and I think it looks weird since the tracks are basically next to each other at that point and there is an obvious difference in paint color between the two. I hope the rest of the ride gets painted for next year.

CP said that they are finishing the whole ride over three winters. It's been two winters since they said that. One more winter until its finished. Also, they need to finish some support beams.
