Then I don't know.
Unless Cedar Point listened to the constant complaints about a filthy, filthy park and decided to finally get out there and wash something!
😂😂😂😂
That may be the case, they got it done with a magic eraser 😉

But they probably noticed that the line wasn't moving much. :)
Or, maybe, they thought the line was moving at an acceptable pace, not being coaster enthusiasts.

To add your name. I intended to post right after your comment but someone else posted before me. Ha.

Are people that really oblivious to the line moving approx 1/3 the pace that it normally would? I have to believe that the casual rider who has ridden MF before would notice things not moving very quickly and at some point in the line they would ask "why is it that we only see the blue train going by?"
Thats assuming that they actually know how fast the line moves with three trains and have that as a reference. Probably not the case. And also you are assuming that people know that all trains aren't painted blue. When I wait for my RTA rapid train, all trains are painted the same. Why would casual riders suspect something different? Especially if they have been on Blue Streak recently and saw the two trains painted the same color.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,

I don't think that guests need a comparative reference to realize they're in a slow line. It doesn't matter if the cause is terrible operations or reduced capacity or mechanical failures. Slow is slow.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people. Last fall, a group of people were standing in front of the Rougarou sign looking at the "new" track layout and marveling at all the loops the twists that will be built, when the actual track was right in front on them. Oblivious.

All I can say is wow.
It only took 3 days of operation and my first trip on Rougarou Monday for me to hear in line that these are just the Batman trains from Geauga Lake. My buddy and I (who were both ride supervisors at Geauga Lake) just smiled and said "mmhmm." No point to argue with anyone.

True, and here's my best example.
When Maverick was under construction, that fall I was standing on the Snake River Falls bridge checking out the progress. There was a family next to me looking at the signs the park had built along there to promote the new ride. Two of the boys started to argue about what the meaning of 95 degree first drop was. One said it was this steep and the other said no, it's this steep. Then the dad jumped in and tried to explain his version to them and they argued with him, too. They finally all agreed to just look it up when they got home.
So I walked a few steps over and said:
"Or, you could just look over there"
"What?"
"Just look over there. There's the drop. It's already done."
"Wha....? OHHHhhhh... Ok, yeah, there it is. Ok."
The mom looked at them like "you buncha dummasses..." while I tried my best to keep my skills as World Champion Eye Roller at bay.

I work in a box office. Never underestimate how oblivious people can be. How will a first time rider or a casual rider with no interest in comparing line movement over multiple visits know the line is moving slower than normal?
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
Why is it when people pack for a vacation they always pack "stupid" and leave "common sense" at home?
I cannot count the number of times I have heard people refer to Lake Erie as an ocean. "It has to be an ocean because it separates two countries." Or, "It is an ocean because you can't see the other side."
I also remember hearing a woman say she remembered when Bluestreak went upside down.
You guys have pointed out that people at the park have conversations and those conversations can often easily be overheard by those standing around them. A first time rider might not be aware that there is only one train in operation but he or she is surrounded by hundreds of people in line who all have varying experiences with the ride and the park. Remarks about the line pace, discussions about missing trains, even body language by those who are tired of waiting, can all be heard and seen.
I'm not sure what you guys are hoping to accomplish by belittling the general public, but a few anecdotal stories about wildly inaccurate statements or someone's lack of observation hardly means that the thousands of non coaster enthusiasts who pass through the gates every day are stupid or oblivious.
I'm not saying that thousands of non-coaster enthusiasts are stupid or oblivious. But some few people can be remarkably oblivious.
Sure. If I heard someone say they remembered when Blue Streak went upside down, I might turn my head and say "Really, queen?", as I like to quote Bianca Del Rio whenever possible.
But take me and drop me into a meeting of wine connoisseurs and I'd be just as lost. They'd be discussing the finer points of this chablis versus that pinot, and I'd be looking for the box that the wine I drink usually comes in.

Now one us trying to belittle anyone. But, unless someone is surrounded by coaster nerds, do you really think a topic of conversation will be the number of trains on the ride? And even if that was overheard, most people would probably just shrug it off and continue with what they were doing.

In a former life I worked all things at a local theater in Defiance, Ohio. Concessions, usher, projectionist, if there was a job to be done, I was your man.
(insert 1920ish private-eye music here)
It was a weekday night and the late shows were wrapping up. I was wiping down the concession stand trying to get a head start on the close for the night. A woman that resembled Zelda Rubinstein from Poltergeist hobbled out of Forrest Gump hungry for popcorn. I stood there politely as she scanned the various treats I had to offer at my station. Then, she changed her gaze and she stared earnestly at the popcorn bags behind me with a look on her face that looked as if she was pondering the meaning of life. They were three choices all in plain view behind me on display: a bright yellow bag with a fancy letter "S" on it; this was the smallest of the bags. Next to this bright number there was a purple bag with a fancy "M" on it; this bag can be descried as offering the consumer something between a small and large amount of popcorn. And finally, there she was in all her glory, the blue-colored "L"-embroidered bag, offering free refills with this, the largest of the three.
"What can I get for you ma'mm?"
Awkward pause.
"Can I answer any questions for you ma'mm?" I asked with a twinkle in my eye.
Awkward pause, and then...
"Which one of them popcorns is the medium?
Promoter of fog.
