Military Appreciation Weekend

No man, you don't get it. You'll never understand unless you were there.

Damn. I had to park all the way out at mid in-joke and only just got here. Now I'll never understand.

Yeah man, if I have to explain it to you, you'll never get it. Just take your cinder block and head on home.

noggin's avatar

Damn. I walked all the way back out -- where's my car?

I'm not sure, you might want to ask Adam. I heard he's an expert on locating cars in the parking lot.

Huh..even just hit my FB feed today...see it's not just me, like I said in the first place..

ANYWAY, aside from all the BS from others, thank you for serving our country. I respect all military personnel in many more ways than one.

No problem, was fun while it was there, we will see if I go back with a commission, still debating that or stick on the GS side

Isn't it interesting that some (many?) of the people who follow you on Facebook also have military experience and are sharing this with you (and others) on Facebook, rather than posting to a roller coaster website and pointing out that most people on the site don't have the specialized knowledge to understand....

I just said I'd love to see someone show up with their DD-214, it'd be funny. Then it turned into a hey that form is allowed, which I said I already knew, then y'all made it into another fiasco on here with personal attacks and jokes, not I. I said one thing, y'all chose to ridicule

But why post that here when only very few here know what you're talking about?

I didn't even post it in a manner to even have anyone care aside from maybe other vets oh here, I don't associate with many here personally so I don't know if anyone here is a vet too.

All I said was "I'm still waiting for someone to walk up with a DD-214 as proof of military service, I'd chuckle."

Then it turned into this, yes they can show it for proof of military service..I didn't even question it's authenticity...never once. Trust me, I know where that form can be used lol. Hell just look up DD-214 and the title of the form will tell ya exactly what it is.

I get that it's a military document, but I don't see what's so funny about using it as proof of military service. As you said, you have to be a vet to know. I think everyone just made a huge deal of it. Most of the time, when someone makes an unfunny joke, we just shake our head and move on, which is what I will be doing as of this post.

LOL. You know, it'd be hilarious if someone showed up to the park on any given day with their CCNA, MCITP, and Network Plus certificates in hand.

Thedevariouseffect, I guess everybody has to know what you're talking about before you can post things. How dare you :)

For vets with passes however, just scan the pass if you have a meal plan. Was told by a friend that that scan activates the meal plan for the day, not sure if true but not willing to figure out.

Can anyone confirm this? It's not mentioned in the press release or on the website. I'm curious if it will work.

They call me Sheehan.
