As of this writing it has NOT been posted on the CP web site as far as I could find and I know this only effects a certain segment of folks. But I just got off the phone with Cedar Point and confirmed that they are in fact running Military Appreciation Weekend this Memorial Day Weekend (Friday through Monday).
She told me that they just confirmed they would be doing it again and the info would be put out shortly. In a nutshell (just like prior appreciation weekends) -- military and veterans will be getting in free with proof of military service and up to 6 family members can utilize the military discount of $22 off the gate price.
So spread the word to any active duty or vets you may know. My family and I utilize this every gift every year and truly appreciate that CP does this.

For vets with passes however, just scan the pass if you have a meal plan. Was told by a friend that that scan activates the meal plan for the day, not sure if true but not willing to figure out.
I'm still waiting for someone to walk up with a DD-214 as proof of military service, I'd chuckle.

A DD-214 is an acceptable proof of military service. It has been for as long as I can remember.
They call me Sheehan.

I know it's acceptable, that form is your lifeline when it comes to a record of your service, trust me, just got mine last September. I'd believe a 214 over a Vet ID anyday, says everything about ya, not just name/rank/DoD ID number.
But still...military thing for me, I'd find it pretty funny.

I want to say that I've seen similar announcements from some of the other Cedar Fair parks already, or at the very least, Kings Island.

I worked in Admissions in 2013 and 2014. Yes, you can use your DD214 as proof of your military service.
Again, I know you can lol that's not the point..the fact a vet would is funny...
You'd have to be in to understand it..

I think mostly you have to be you to understand why you amuse yourself so much.

No, you'd have to serve to get why it's funny..the image is totally true..one of the best days you'll ever have in the military to an extent.

Thank you for your time in the service, but you're not making anyone laugh.

Both KI and CP have made such announcements.
It wasn't made to make you laugh, if you didn't serve you won't get the references or the point. That's why I said I'd chuckle...

Your posts are making me cringe, dude. I don't know why - but, just.. stop.
If his harmless posts about an inside joke make you cringe, then I'm a little worried about you.
No man, you don't understand. You just wouldn't get it unless you were there. Stop trying to "get it"
What do yo mean stop trying to get it? I got it, the 214 is sitting in my fire safe with all my other documents that I need for the rest of my life. I did my time, I served, its funny to me and others who get the references, its not meant for you and never was.
