Midway Music

First years probably don't know much about the midway music at work and how you hear the same songs over and over, but they will soon enough.

Returning employees, what are some of your favorite midway songs?

Mine is Come On, Get On, Cedar Point

Some of my favorite include: Faith Hill "Someone Else's Dream", Summer of 69" by Bryan Adams, "Walking in Memphis", and "Its My Life" by Bon Jovi.

I hate their version of God Bless America. My first year they had LeeAnn Rhymes for half the season and then switched to the bad lady's voice.

My favorite song has to be "When I'm Gone" by 3 doors down. Though it does get repetitive throughout the day.

yeah, being at Dragster, the only music we hear is the platform music and when we don;t her that we get the midway music (when the speakers are working) and it gets super annoying.

i didnt even realize that god bless america was sung by a woman until the season was half over lol

I can't stand that version of God Bless America! I like the song and have heard some GREAT people sing it, but they had to choose one of the worst (IMHO.) The rumor going around is that that version was handpicked by Kinzel so hopefully now that he won't be in the park everyday it can change.

The park actually has a pretty good system considering it was thrown together from so many different time periods and equipment. I can see them upgrading to Audio over IP sometime in the next few years though, and that is what I am thinking they meant in the earnings call.

I loved it when they played "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" in the mornings!

Where'd you hear that? From what ive heard, the park doesn't have money to spend on redoing all of the sound systems. Skyhawk's sound system didn't really work and the speakers in the ques don't work at all as well as the speakers on skyhawks platform. Hell, our speiler barely ever worked properly

See I read that as they are getting new sound equipment for the new light show, which I assume will be replacing American Portrait, not for the entire park.

Though I could see them start to do some of the infrastructure needed to get Audio over IP throughout the park. Especially considering that they have Fiber run throughout the park already for the new POS system installed last year.

during my interview i was told the entire park. and yes it will be replacing american portrait. they are taking down the giant screen in front of the station too.

Back in '02 when I worked at SFWoA we had Billy Joel greatest hits vol 1 and 2 on a loop. Now THAT got repetitive until Fright Fest rolled around in the fall and the music got changed.

I'm sure you guys will still have to deal with something like that lol. I'd imagine they'd still keep the fireworks or something similar.

its annoying as hell having to clean up a million firework caps off the train. haha
