Michigan's Adventure and Canada's Wonderland- How are they??

We were planning on making a couple roadtrips this summer. If any of you have been to either of these parks, we would like to hear about your experience. I'm mainly interested in the rollercoaster selections, and the cleanliness (up-keep) and fun of the park. Any input would be appreciated.....thanks. If you have been to Geauga Lake, I am curious if these parks are a tad better or worse than Geagua Lake. Michigan's Adventure looks to be lacking in rides...

First post. Sorry about the extra long single line. I
figured it would wrap it down to the next line....

You'll probably get better results for a question like this here.

Michigan's Adventure is a 1-day park (if you like water-parks). Otherwise a few hours will do. The rides aren't bad, and Shivering Timbers is definitely worth at least one trip out there.

Wonderland is a nice park. I don't know where you're coming from, so I'll assume the Ohio-Michigan hour so you'd be looking at a 5+ hour drive. With Behemoth opening in May, that certain is a plus for the park. They have a nice selection of flats and some decent coasters.

Thanks for the updates........ We are driving from
Cleveland and will be spending a week in Toronto.
Wonderland looks like it is worth it. We have the
Platinum pass so it isn't a loss if we don't like it.

seeing as wonderland is my home park I can only have good things to say about. Our coasters aren't world class like Cedar Points but they are ok. Behemoth will be an excellent addition. Our park is fairly clean, and we have the widest variety of flats in the world :). He have several one of a kind rides, or rare rides. Such as sledgehammer which I believe is the only HUSS Jump2 in the world, Cliffhanger, now called riptide, is also unique because of the two gondolas. Psyclone is the fastest pendulum on the earth apparently, or the fastest of its design, I know it is faster than your maxair. The only major problem with all of our flats is that the ride times are extremely short. Hope this helps

CW- Thanks. We will be checking it out. It looks as though you
can take the subway over, and then catch a bus. We will
be staying in downtown Toronto. We'll probably catch a
Blue Jays game as well....

I visited Michigan's Adventure back in summer of 2004 and have nothing but good things to say about it. It's clean, not to crowded, good selection of coasters/rides, and much more. The waterpark is the main draw to the park, but recent additions like Grand Rapids and Thunderhawk are making the amusement park much more appealing.

I think it's good that my only complaint about the park was the lack of food locations and bathrooms. Both of those have been fixed since I've been there though.

You're absolutely right. One of our "New for 2007" things was a new restroom.Michigan's Adventure is also home to a great waterpark, as you probably know by now. Check out the wikipedia articles for each park for more details.

When everyone goes onto the waterpark around noonish on a good day almost every single ride in the ride park becomes a walk on. I rode Corkscrew almost 10 times in a row all front seat no one was in the que or the station at all.

Yes. At Michigan's Adventure, you could easily get over 10 rides each on the most popular rides. Just wait for the waterpark until later in the day. Most of the time the lines for Funnel of Fear and some of the other popular water rides can get quite long, so just go ride the coasters with no lines. I walked on to Corkscrew, Shivering Timbers, Wolverine Wildcat, and Logger's Run(a flume ride) right in a row. The addition of Thunderhawk, a second-hand Vekoma SLC, should draw some guests away from the other rides too.

There are not many options for food however.

here is a really good video showcasing many of the rides of CW, it is missing some of the rides but really gives a good overview of what the park has to offer.
