Michigans Adventure 2002

Was reading in my local paper from Sunday when I returned home from the weekend at the Point, and in the Travel section there was a article about the CF and MA marriage and very plainly stated that MA would be getting a Steelie for 2002...Gave no stats or heights however...Thought the CP and CF enthusiasts would be interested...

Thank You for info, Mr. Spartan!

Yep, as this was the original plan the family had, and CFair wants to continue it. :)
Was the new coaster - whatever it may be - already planned / contracted before the sale of the park? I will say I really like how Cedar Fair does have a hands-off management style for the different parks. They aren't the same from one park to the next, like other chains we could mention!

Mr Jourden has been planning a steel coaster for several years. The Muskegon Chronicle a few days ago quoted him saying that Cedar Fair was going to let the coaster go ahead
as planned, which I took to mean that the ride was well under way.

I can still see Cedar Fair Modifying it for future operations. And as any Cedar Fair park, It's a Hyper. Similar to Steel Force. Also how much acres is Michigans Adventure? Is there alot of room. Also Maybe they should rename Zach's Zoomer lol if that is a coaster there i believe.

This is a good thing. Cedar Fair gotta love them.
I'm sorry, but I would laugh so hard if it ended up being the other type of steel every CF property seems to have -- a mine ride. =)

Just to see the look on everyone's face...
I really hope they dont throw another morgan in there, hopefully It will be Intamin.
how much acres is Michigans Adventure? Is there alot of room. asked CedarPoint! -- There is a LOT of land there; and he didn't even sell Cedar Fair all of the land he owns, he's still going to be running his landfill business off of land he owns in the area. CF has plenty of room to expand. I spoke to his son a few years ago and at the time he said they had long range plans expanding the park eastward the length of Shivering Timbers (which is a fair chunk of land as anyone who has been to MA can attest). The steel coaster is going ahead as planned, and I'd be willing to bet the campground and motel Jourden wanted to build will probably be built fairly soon by CF.

Check out Coasterbuzz--the whole story is in the news section. In fact, they just released news of Cedar Fair buying another Water Park!
once again... Won't CF be competing with its self(CP) by helping out MA???? Just confuses me why they would want to take business away from CP.
Hello they will still get the money think about Sfft and sft. They make a profit even though there like maybe 200 miles away.

I believe the empty land constitutes 60 acres, but I could be wrong.
EHemdo09-- CP and MA are different parks marketed to different parts of the population. Cedar Point is a destination resort, drawing visitors from a marketing area than covers several states, while Michigan's Adventure is more a 'one-day' visit type of park, advertised to residents of Michigan-- West Michigan has a lot of tourism business, from Detroit, UP, Chicago, also out of state, people mostly outside of CP's marketing area. Also MA probably gets a larger chunk of guests from residents of the immediate area (Muskegon, Ludington, and of course Shelby, where my folks reside). It's kind of like, if you've ever noticed this, you'll sometimes find McDonald's restaurants just a few blocks from each other, you'd think they'd cannibalize each other's business. But one might draw office workers from surrounding buildings while the other might get mostly drivers off a major road or expressway. Wow, that's long winded of me. I'll stop.
