Michigan and New Yorkers Today?

It really needs something more for the enthusiasts other than shivering timbers.

Not like the enthusiasts are very important.

Well, there's the place I get tripped up. No park needs anything for enthusiasts.

Cedar Point is a regional destination resort that Cedar Fair seems to be positioning as the "Roller Coaster Capital of the World [tm]." Lots of rooms, lots of coasters.

MiA is neither. It's a small park in a tourism-focused market that, for many guests, is something they're doing in addition to other activities in the area, not the reason for the trip, and those are the folks Cedar Fair needs to bring into the park.

Thanks for the update on Holland, MI, Noggin. That's why I wondered if it was even remotely the same, it's been so long and I know how things have developed everywhere.

I've never been there but I'm pretty sure what Michigan's Advanture needs is to stay the right size for its market in order to remain profitable and open. It would be really nice if Geauga Lake was still just a nice, dippy little park with a few coasters and a water park. Sometimes you just have to be thankful for what you have.

Funhouse -- Holland does several brewpubs and craft distilleries, though, which may be more of an appeal to your adult self. And Grand Haven is right up 31; everybody should see Grand Haven's Musical Fountain at least once in their life. :-)

I went to Higgins Lake with a friend on vacation as a teen and moved a friend's grand daughter to college in Adrian a few years ago. That's about the extent of my experience in Michigan.
