MForce Delay

Just a word of warning, not sure if this was just today (Sunday 09-15-05), or a new policy...but while walking past MForce today they were asking Everyone to sit in the test seat reguardless of size. This added an extra 20-30 minutes to the line, before you even reach the ques. Ride Prides can get over zealous, but the added length to the line was noticed through out the day...so not sure what's up with that.

Other than that...it was a GREAT day at the park. It felt odd being able to walk on to Raptor several times through out the day! No delays for any other rides, great day for ride stats!

Have fun, play nice!! =)

That's absurd, if it is in fact true

That is retarded that they make kids my age(Im not a teenager yet) have to sit in the test seat. They wouldn't need to be tested because they are small. Hopefully that was just a one day thing.

The Ride Prides weren't being 'over zealous'... yesterday and today nearly every train had about 4-6 empty seats in them due to large guests making it to the station and not fitting. Not only did the lack of checking at the entrance result in empty seats on trains but also slowed the dispatch times way down.

What about Dragster?:)

But it's a joke 1) They don't fill those seats. 2) Why would they have everyone try it? That only slows down things worse.

Ya really, why shoud everyone be made to try the test seats, that sounds so stupid

At a certian point it only makes capacity worse to fill in all the seats instead of sending a train with some empty and loading the next one.

That point is usally just seconds after the safety gates open.

well at least they are becoming somewhat proactive instead of haveing people wait hours in line to find out that they cant fit. Maybe the big wigs are finally getting the message there is a problem and doing a survey of sorts to see the scale of the problem so hopefully they can get it fixed. I dont buy the coaster designer statement (this is my paraphrase not exact quote) that americans are fat and lazy that is why that cant fit in the coaster. Being 6'1 178lbs with a 36 inch waist, i wouldnt consider myself fat. I hate not being able to ride the MF and just squeeking by on top thrill.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

The Ride Prides were actually pretty cool at Millennium Force, and last night they actually asked me to help them out at entrance, so I just stood there and explained the Nazism of working the test seat.

Matt, what's really gonna piss you off is that I am 6'3, 250 with a 40 inch waist and I fit on MF, or at least I did last fall when I rode it. We'll find out again at the end of October. (I didn't feel like waiting in line back in May when I went.)

I was there Sunday and that is not why the line was out the queue so far. MF shut down for about 5-10 minutes so they stopped letting people in and a line formed outside the ride which once the ride opened back up, it took a while for it to disapear.

Jason, that happens alot, however asking everyone in line to sit in the test seat was New. I couldn't understand why kids, adults, tall and thin were all asked to sit in the seat. I can see that this would be Politically Correct...rather than making just a few larger people sit in the seat, they'd make everyone sit, can't say discrimination now...but it was kinda crazy if you ask me.

I don't know why they even have a test seat. The belt length is different from the actual train belts. In fact the belts vary from train to train. I fit fine in the test seat, with whatever slack is needed this week, much different story getting the slack on the ride.

I do not undetrstand why you are not able to fit in Millennium Force seats. I am 6'5", 195 lbs., and have a 36 inch waist and have no problems riding Millennium Force.

Jugga: The belts were shortened this year.

JuggaLotus's avatar

Again???? I thought they were shortened at the beginning of last year (remember the S:ROS accident) and then this year, instead of needing to pull 2 inches you only needed an inch. Or were they just all finally brought to the same length this year?

From what I was told, they were shortened 3 inches in the offseason. I used to be able to pull a ton of slack, now I can barely fit with a 36" waist.

Last year the belts were longer and you needed 1 inch, this year they're shorter and you need 1/2 inch.

They're letting ride prides staff the entrance of MF!?

When I was working at the ride the only position ride prides were allowed to work was unload. Honestly that is really the only place I would want them to work. So many problems occur at that entrance, I would think that management would want somebody with more experience down there to handle the test seat.

Are they letting them check bars now too?
