MF Trivia Question

Reds are strobes as well, actually.
A lot of towers use reds for night lights because they are less obtrusive to neighboring structures. They aren't as bright in the night.
The original Hancock building here in Boston uses a light (that can be either red or blue, flashing or solid) to signal incoming weather and cancellation of Red Sox games. :o) Sorry, just watched the news last night and I thought that was interesting info.

OT: The Gulf Building in Pittsburgh (though the name may have changed by now, since Gulf left as far as I know) used to have the same feature, to give the weather forecast. Sadly, though, now it just stays goldish-white.

Also in Pittsburgh, the Grant Building has one of the most interesting lighting ideas I've ever seen. A huge red triangular light sits atop the building, and flashes the letters P-I-T-T-S-B-U-R-G-H in Morse Code. How great is that? ;)

Going up MF's lift hill on my first ride, I'm all looking around at the Point and really enjoying the trip up. Then, all of a sudden, this big damn bar goes zooming past me...

I hope this rod is grounded in some way. When On the top of MF the last thing I would look at is that "damn bar" so I never really paid attention. If its just attached to the ride its pointless, unless the MF is made out of rubber. As for the view I love sitting all the way in the back and looking behind me just before the fling over. The station is so tiny and cute from up there.

It really doesn't matter. Electricity goes where it wants to. That's why the ride got fried once this summer. I'm sure it's cabled to the ground.
