MF lady gone for good!

I e-mailed Cedar Point asking them about the music in the station and the auto speil on Millennium Force. And they have emailed me back saying "it was changed because of recommendations from the ride manufacturer". So we now know for good that she is gone and why.
The lady in the Wicked Twister station sounds kinda like her, maybe she got tired of Millenium Force and walked over to Wicked Twister?

Yes. There's now a bit in the spiel about the "negative-g's, or weightlessness" on MF. Fallout from Perilous Plunge I suppose (no pun intended)

That sucks. The music really makes the ride experience so much better. Dangit!
I figured the lawyers were behind it... Actually I don't see any reason why they couldn't have a new spiel (with all the g-force balogna) AND still have the music, but who knows...

Here's what I think....That music can get very annoying to ops very eaisly. It was distracting the ops from their job and annnoying them.
You don't think that new spiel is annoying?

I guess it's time to "get over it." The more I think about it old Billy was right, lets kill all the lawyers, and kill them tonight. (Eagles)

I said it from day one the this was probably the reason. The g force crap and possible distraction from the ride ops. If it's just the lack of legality in the spiel thought, why can't they make a new one with music?

At least they have the capabilty to play it, maybe they will trun it on for specail occasions. Probably not though.Bye MF lady, I'll see ya in coaster heaven.

Couldn't they just play Jeff's remix of the song? ;)

Sigh, the music and spiel were part of the atmosphere, something that will be missed greatly. Lets hope CP does something to increase MF's futuristic atmosphere.

Does this mean Superman:ROS's station music will have to cease?

That's a reasonable question and I'm not really sure of the answer. I don't see why they couldn't have had the new spiel AND the music. Unfortunately, one of the things that CP usually lets slip is whatever bit of theming/effects their rides have. Just look at Magnum's tunnels with all that broken equipment in there.

S:UE at SFWoA (Intamin) did not have its music going when I went, but Batman (B&M) did.

That sucks. I'm glad I got one last chance to hear her last Saturday. I do wish that they would have kept the music, even if they had to change the spiel.

VertiGo: VertiGone but not forgotten.

You learn to ignore the station music very quickly... but it kind of helped because you knew when the train would be coming in order to hit interval depending on where the music was.

I hate all those stupid lawyers. why do we have them around again?

Millenium Force - this much fun has to be illegal

I just wrote Cedar Point asking why the spiel was changed...and if its ever coming back? I guess I know my answer ahead of time...Man that sucks. :(

At the turn of the Millenium......there were signs...

Truly a sad day... :(

But I agree, the real question should be why couldn't they make a new spiel with the music? It would at least make that new guy's voice tolerable. Right now in the station I just keep asking myself, "What?"

My question is, who actually records the spiels? Is there a company that specifically makes spiels for amusement parks?

KicksTheSky, I'm not sure, but the same lady, whoever it was, did the recording (or at least the voice) for the original promo for the ride.

I have to admit that I am disappointed to see it leave. :(
