Taking 275 is a good idea for people who take 94 or 96 and are on the west side of 275 (or live close enough to it). Other than that, my route is for those who live north of 94 and 96 and use 75 as a primary means of travel.
And speaking of my route, I'm already experiencing the results of the closure. I take M-39 everyday to go to work and to come home and for the most part it's typically busy (due to ford being located along it), but not enough to make a big deal. Well I forgot the closure started today.....boy did I find out. Now I have to take an alternate route just to avoid the chaos of people taking 94 to Southfield to get back to 75 and the normal commute.
Oh well, it's only for 2 years.....

Without knowing the specifics of the project, I'm not sure. But here's a PDF of the project guide.

Once you get off the bridge, follow whatever signs that will get you onto 94, take that south to M-39/Southfield and get off. Take that east and then all the way back to 75. Taking M-39/Southfield to 75 is about 5-6 minutes. Taking 94 to 275 to 75 is about 35-40 minutes. So which sounds better?;)

Ohh ya I meant 94, not 96. I can't keep track of all of your freeways. And 5-6 minutes sounds much better than 35-40. Thanks for the help Adam. Last Friday I left for Florida and fortunately the closure didn't start until 10am and I left at 5am. Coming home on Saturday night was a breeze though.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Chicago's not bad. Its the fact that it then takes you to Chicago's suburb afterwards....Wisconsin.
Those are fighting words right there. If Wisconsin is so bad, why is tourism such a boom for us and Chicagoans spend lots of money there. Also, like cheese and beer? Odds are if you do at least one of those items is from Wisconsin (add potatoes too if you are from midwest, were closer and the second largest producer of that too) From a coaster/park enthusiast stand point we also have the Dells, the place that litterally invented the hotel/water park combo, home to the largest waterpark in the world, now home to a darn good collection of wooden coasters, and not to mention the Dells themselves (sandstone canyon type formation.)
Finally its home to the greatest professional football team of all time.
10 minutes extra, tops. I take the same route starting from across the Bridge and the only reason it took us 20 minutes extra to get to just south of the city limits last week, is because we screwed up royally on the detour signs.
...Then again, if you screw up 3 times in a row like that, then sure, the time would be about an hour extra. :)
Not pertaining to the route, but going back across to Canada is like the worst Mulholland Drive-style switchback ever. "Let's have 'em face oncoming traffic every time they turn a bend!"
