Metal Cages and Weird Supports

Can someone tell me what these metal 'cages' are, and possible locations for this weird support

I'm thinking the support might cap off the tower somehow. But, as far as those cages, I'm stumped. I'm probably overlooking the obvious, so someone set me right. ;)

That is a weird support. How about this weird support? is it part of this tower? or is it part of a totally new tower somwhere? This Weird Support Well as things start appearing out of nowhere the prediction of Dragster becomes harder and harder. CP is just playing with us. Theyre like "here look at what were building! It looks alot like a big L:TH:B!, oh wait but what is this!" I think they have this construction planned out in stages to confuse people and raise attention to Project 2003!

Im not too sure about those cage looking things, but my guess would be that they are for the rumored elevator system to get maintainence from level to level. This was the rumor a few weeks ago, as it would be much easier than having a staircase, like seen on WT. Just a thought....
I was looking at the catwalk-like guard railing (In the Weird Support picture) and you can see that it is curved. It has a radius like the tophat. Now I strongly suspect that the tophat won't be free standing like Xcelerator's.

Along with this picture,

it looks like it will have a similar set up to MF's lift hill apex. Instead of a lift bucket, they'll have an elevator.

CP_bound, I saw that too... did you notice the red 'stairs' as well? Why, on earth, would you need such access to the tophat?

You can never be too safe, I guess. Assuming that the top hat will have the stairs/railings, it will take away some of that "free" feeling that I'm sure you get on Xcelerator, but oh well. I also don't think that the top hat will be free standing like Xcelerator's, after seeing these latest pics.

As for the cages, my only guess would be that it has something to do with the rumored elevator system that would travel up the main tower.

well in the first weird pic i think it may be sometype of track but i donno
I have to disagree with the elevator theroy. After looking at them a few times, they appear to be station parts...... It will be a weird station at that.

They look like Gemini type station parts, sortive like a gerter type system. With the cross members and such.

Well if the tophat really is 400' or so I would feel safer with the supports all the way to the top. I just hope it won't sway like Wicked Twister...;)

Maybe the support tower will keep going over where the track ends and above that we'll have our rotating restaurant. :)

I just couldn't resist.... :)

Stupid question, what is this? http://www.setecx.com/pics/cp101202const/imagepages/PICT0156.html

Those are pieces of Troika. But back to the cages. They look sort of like the ones used on MF, but a lot smaller. Look at these. http://www.guidetothepoint.com/gallery/img.asp?img=h-mfconst40.jpg

When i first saw the metal supports in the parking lot, the first thing that came to my mind was that they were railings for the waiting line(i forget what the real name is). So, i completely confused!!!!
Doesn't everybody know? Using those metal 'cages', Cedar Point is building the world's tallest performing stage! How can the world not notice Live E doing shows 400 feet in the air? :)

Yeah and the other cages will be used as themeing because the ride will be called "Speedy Hampster".
The cages will be filled with hampsters!

(the above is completely false)

I'm not sure, but those cages look like some kind of supports. Or bigger types of Stage setups for lights and speakers and stuff. If i didint know any better i would say that there is going to be a live performance at CP.

But they do look like small lightweight supports for some kind of structure.

(Don't ask me...I'm just on a RCT2 high)

They are for the elevator. For those of you who still don't think there is going to be an elevator the proof is pretty obvious. If you stand behind the tower and look up at the catwalks there is an opening on the same level at every spot. It would take forever to talk up 420ft worth of stairs its much quicker and safer to use an elevator.

And, if you look at this picture:

That's what every little exstension on each catwalk beam is for. Plus the openings on the sides of each catwalk.
