I was at Cedar Point this Memorial Day weekend (May 28 &29). As usual I had a great time at CP. It was a very nice weekend with light rain on Saturday night, and an hour long severe thunder storm on Sunday night. On Sunday evening, Millennium, TTD, and WildCat were all down due to weather conditions (supposedly TTD and Millennium were struck). I got into the park on Saturday at 11:00 after waiting 20 minutes to process my pass. The park looks beautiful in most of its areas this year. Below the report is broken down into three parts.
*The Good*
-Windseeker looks like it is going to be a great ride. The lights are very eye popping. The are looks very refreshed from the old Oceana times.
-Iron Dragon, Blue Streak, Raptor, Disaster Transport, WildCat, and Mean Streak all had amazing crews. I am especially impressed with WildCat and Iron Dragon. Even though Iron Dragon had 2 trains running, the crews were moving very quickly. As for WildCat, the cars were flying out of the station; plus the ride hosts are now trying to fill up every empty seat on the ride.
-The Shows entertained me this year. Even though the "Island Heat Tropical Beat" and "Grand Ole Country" shows are cheesy, the performers had great energy and connected with the audience very well. Same goes for "All Wheels Extreme"; but it seems like AWE has put more acrobatic time into the show in my opinion.
*The Satisfactory/Needs Improvement*
-Mean Streak does not have the green train on the track yet. And it seems like gold train was not running well. The ride has not gotten better IMO, the only part that did is the 1st turn around. The ride is still fun though.
-I have never seen so many muffle-heads in my life. Mean Streak and Mine Ride were infested with them on Saturday Night. There must have been at least 5000 of them everywhere in Mean Streak's trains/station.
-I was not impressed with Corkscrew in general this year. There was an operator who was a little rude to a couple of people who lifted up the chains blocking a section of the train off. The trains also kept stacking for like 30 seconds each. The ride is only running two trains, so i don't see why they should be stacking.
-Iron Dragon is only running 2 trains. The crew is super fast this year, but a third train would help.
*Most Improved*
-I have to say that one of Blue Streak's trains is really well finished. The ride is running very well. The crew is very friendly and doing a great job running the ride.
-Ocean Motion looks like a whole new ride. The ride seems to be dispatching at a quicker pace than last year, even though the lines are much longer because people can now see it!
-I don't know if this has changed or not, but it seems like the roller coasters can now run 30 minutes after severe weather has stopped. Magnum was running 45 minutes after a severe storm yesterday with all three trains.
Additional Info: Domo doesn't seem to be in Disaster Transport anymore. I believe that he was in the queue at the beginning of this year.
