Quotation marks are not a form of emphasis. They are a way of suggesting you don't support what you're saying.

You said, and I quote, "homosexuality along with all other forms of infidelity". Sorry, but reading what you wrote, I have to conclude that you equate homosexuality with infedelity. Convince me otherwise.

I already clarified that statement. Often the argument against the statement "ruins the sanctity of marriage" is refuted with "look at the divorce rate"... my statement was equating the two as both being wrong or against the "traditional" form of marriage. Just because one thing is bad doesn't mean another thing is good. I don't equate rape and theft, but they are both wrong.

And I apologize if my use of quotation marks is confusing to you. I have been doing that for years as other forms of emphasis like bold, italics, and underline are not always available. So for consistency I stick to the quotations.

I’ve long advocated that government should only support civil unions of 2. None of their business who the 2 are. Marriage should be a religious/spiritual thing that is defined however a particular faith wants to define it, but, with no legal standing.

That's all very nice, but doesn't explain why you think homosexuality is a form of infedility. Your words, not mine. The divorce rate was not mentioned.

Homosexuality is not infedelity. Waiting patiently for you to convince me otherwise.

It's not confusing. It just doesn't mean what you think it means. Words in quotation marks suggest that the person posting doesn't support what they're saying.

You obviously are having trouble understanding the exact words I'm using. I didn't say homosexuality is infidelity. I did clarify, twice now, what I meant. At this point you are being petty and irritating because you refuse to even attempt to understand what I have laid out for you, several times.

You don't own the rules on "quotations" and now that I've pointed out the way they are used, you have moved the target to a pedantic battle, instead of the actual discussion.

With that said, I don't expect anything I've said to convince you to change your mind, but I have clarified myself several times. At this point it's not up to me to understand what I am saying.

Help me out. You said "homosexuality along with all other forms of infidelity" and you said "I didn't say homosexuality is infidelity." Those are both clear, declarative statements, which contradict each other. Which one represents what you believe?

No, I don't own the rules on quotations. If you want to use them to provide, as you might say, "emphasis", go ahead. (You could provide emphasis by using italics, of course.) I'll continue to take words in quotation marks as an indication that those words should not be taken seriously.

I don't have access to italics on my phone. Thanks for participating.

And I'm done trying to explain that single statement. I have made it perfectly clear what was meant. You are stuck on some semantic point and I can't help you any further.

Of course you have access to italics on your phone. Use brackets around "i" and "/i" to emphasize words.

And help me out. "...homosexuality along with all other forms of infidelity" is a pretty clear statement. You wrote that. You meant that. What did you mean by that?

Perfect with a pot of chilli or tomato soup. I have Red Beans and rice simmering.

Does Velveeta do slices now? I usually stick to blocks of cheddar, colby, and pepper jack.

Weird. I probably haven't eaten velveeta in 15 years.

To those that don't appreciate CP food service, I just got back to the boat with Steak n Shake food. Took forever and they gave me a stale bun. Cheese sauce instead of a slice of cheese. Fries half full. If Coasters was open late night, would have had a better meal there.

Steak & Shake is just nasty. Our first adventure there was at 2am back in 2003, wife decided she was hungry. Gross, but we thought maybe the late night Sandusky quarry stench played into that. We tried it again the following year without the quarry funk and it may have been even worse. Never again.

Steak n Shake is hit or miss; usually miss. I've had to wait 25 minutes for two shakes to go before, it was unbelievable.

The difference being charged $7 for a meal or $18 for a meal.

Makes me really appreciate the CP ‘best day’ service without a reach around.

Maybe they could hire some internationals from Vietnam.
